We pretty much know my feelings about DWOPP and the history there. This is why I’m a bit sad this came down this way. I know it is not personal because most (not all) don’t have an axe to grind with me. Yet, it feels a little personal and I’ll tell you why. I don’t mean this in a gaslight way, just… an explanation.

I don’t feel as they weaponized DWOPP so much as they weaponized MY trauma with it. That doesn’t sit well with me. At all. Here’s why I personally (no receipts to give it’s an opinion) think that.

The person in question had a known Ares handle that was in use before this game? Not DWOPP.
If Betsy (?) was in another relationship with someone that Rich Playboy was jealous of – it was NOT isolating behavior, like DWOPP does.
I did not see where Rich Playboy messaged B girl and said bad things about OP. Again, not a DWOPP red flag.

Now was the person creepy? Yes, perhaps. Maybe. Not sure. I have opinions but they are knee jerk. It should have been hey this person has creepy behaviors and then looked into it. When you come to a forum (any forum) people are going to grab some pitchforks around some names.

I feel like (and it’s a feel not a real) that’s what might have happened. It might not even have been intentional but their own knee jerk. The problem is like stated I don’t feel like DWOPP was weaponized, but the trauma of those who he dealt with. This sits badly with me.

It’s okay if you don’t agree, it is truly just my opinion. It’s why I asked (thank you btw) for the title to be changed.

Considering the discussion of receipts in the other thread, I’ve thought about adding to this. There aren’t going to be any receipts about the actual, literal crimes that are the reason this thread exists, because of-fucking-course not, and I’d take the dimmest possible view (to put it politely) of anyone who insisted on them. Not that I have any reason to think anyone on this board would do so, nor do I really think people on MSB would either (at least I’d hope not), but just in case for some unfathomable reason people don’t consider that enough of a reason to avoid this player like the bubonic plague, I do indeed have mountains of receipts as regards what an incredibly toxic player he is.

Mountains. I’m happy to provide what I can, but frankly, I’ve got one particular exchange that might do well to sum most of it up. On GarouMUSH he got into massive trouble because after years of wanting his character to ICly know a secret he knew OOCly and trying to weasel and/or browbeat his way into having people tell him, after leaning really hard on an OOC friend to have their character tell his character (and being refused, as that character had made a promise that he wouldn’t), one day he decided his character just found out this secret that could get another character killed (that this character had kept for real life decades), confronted this character in a scene about it, and then after the fact pressured his friend into just agreeing that their character had told his character anyway, and, when they still turned him down, decided she used magic (which doesn’t work this way), to go into their friend’s character’s head and retrieve the information without their IC consent, and without consulting staff.

I think it’s perfectly fine to share these screenshots, because he gave them to me to prove he was innocent of this shit. This is the best light he could put it in. Real life names removed:

This is not an isolated example of his non-go-straight-to-fucking-jail-offenses, just the one he provided for his own defense.

But also he’s a child predator, so none of that should matter at all.

Unfortunately, no, it’s not in Ares. It’s in Evennia. I played Arx before I ever touched a single Ares game, so I looked into Evennia first and somehow didn’t turn the project into a smouldering heap of wreckage after a few months. Two years later, I’m almost done coding, haha. I never expected to have made it this far.

When the scene finally slows down enough for me to finish an emote and I post it, feeling good about myself…

Only to realise my client was scrolled up and everyone has moved on and my emote now makes no sense. 😭

I haven’t logged on to my main game in over a week because I was on vacation and then came back into a work shitstorm so just reading this thread has made me want to roll into a ball like a hedgehog.
