@Pavel This doesn’t shock me. See I figure Oscar, Grover/Super Grover and Cookie Monster have to be the ones that will pop up for most.

I wanted to grow up and be Sam Eagle. I grew up into Oscar. Most of us are Oscar.

Ah, when I was a wee tyke in the early 1970s, watching Sesamstrasse on German TV…

I didn’t understand a word. But I always liked der Graf.

My German is shocking, but I’m assuming that would be this guy.

              What I thought I’d be
              super grover

              What I ended up being
              grover

Grover was my favorite as a kid, so he’s the fondly remembered one!

              she/her, them/they - not super particular

I have been here the whole time

For me it’s not a character so much as this segment:

I have very little memory of this period of my life but my dad tells me my favorite was Snuffleupagus.

let it be a challenge to you

Big Bird. I’m not sure what this implies, and I don’t really want to think about it too much.

@sao He was my fave too. Nowadays I think I identify more with Animal though.

Sesame Street was way before my time, but I usually go straight to Big Bird for characters. Elmo also pops into my head because I had a little Elmo doll as a kid which I used to throw down the stairs. I don’t remember why.

Or more accurately, if it isn’t Cookie Monster, why isn’t it?

Because I grew up in a Muppets household. I could only see Sesame Street when I was visiting someone who had cable.
