When people don’t understand basic thematic elements, can’t handle any kind of pushback, and spend all their time bitching about a person putting up so much as a shred of ‘no, thanks’.

RE: MU Peeves Thread
I left my job of many years for a much better job but holy shit am I tired all of the time now. I just want to not be tired. I want to feel like I’m not scraping the bottom of the barrel for my creativity. I want to feel like I’m not falling into the FOMO pit.
I know it’s temporary and that by September I’ll probably be in a good groove and things won’t be as draining, but GD. I have so few hobbies and this is one of them, lol.

RE: Bannings
All I could do was laugh at seeing that my ban was permenant. I’ve never been banned anywhere in 20 years of MUing. I never even had a “serious” conversation about my behavior. No warnings. I’m as interesting or scandalous as toasted white bread with nothing on it.
But I’m banned for asking why Gany didn’t just lock some threads or step away. Makes sense.

Now and again just slammed full force with how deeply you just can’t and it’s not anything specific. Just. A. Big. Mental. Nope.

People Doing Things
Shoutouts to:
@Tat For being consistently impressive with worldbuilding. I watch the way you put pieces together and then tear them out and then put them back in and it’s something that I wish I could do with anything nearing your quality level. Being able to work with, alongside, partial adjacent to you has really helped fuel a lot of my own growth, especially when it comes to constructively receiving feedback.
@Herja For being a terrific GM that comes up with excellent plot hooks and twists. For being a person constantly on the look out for new ways to catherd RPers and forward direction. For being a person willing to say “the line is here” which is frighteningly hard to do.
@Apos Someday we will let you out of the char gen mines.
But seriously thank you for all the jumping into the deep end on code you’re doing. It sounds terrifying.
@KarmaBum and also @bear_necessities For creating a series of fun games and being plain and straight forward about the type of weirdness they won’t tolerate on them (but for some reason continuing to let me in the door despite endless threats to RP watching Lord of the Rings ICly btw is that available to stream on Glitch asking for a friend).

RE: Is friendship bad?
I’m a working person with a full time job that just took on a side gig so I can get ahead, a parent, a spouse. Idk who has time to worry about other people’s friendships.
My internet friends are my friends. If I stopped being friends with them, I’d have a whole hell of a lot less friends and that just seems silly when you’re an adult and making friends is hard as hell???

RE: Bannings
I find it disappointing that my long tenure on that board was brought to an end because I objected over @Snackness and @KarmaBum being banned for utter frivolity when locking the thread and taking a step would have been a sounder choice, in my opinion.
But they’re right in a sense, I knew that I was going to be banned when I hit enter on my post. I would do it again knowing what the results would be. So it’s better if they keep me off of their board and out of their hair.
With that said, I don’t need anyone to be angry on my behalf or further argue with them. The people that remain as active posters on MSB are ones that have a long standing history of manipulative and abusive behavior. In the case of one of the re-emerging personalities, someone that was banned from Arx recently for violating no-contact orders and pretending to not be her.
Those aren’t people I want to be around. I’m content to let it die now.

Confessions
Mostly for silly things.
Here is mine:
I use asterisks, slashes, and underlines to provide emphasis with absolutely no consistency at all. Sometimes different ones in the same pose!!
I feel no remorse. I’ll do it again.

Heck, I would build it myself if I had the money but I have to work for a living.
Could independently wealthy game runners that don’t need to work for a living please raise their hands?

I haven’t read a lot of this but I do know if I were @Jenn or @inuki I’d be searching for the way to turn off notifications when I get @ed. Does that exist?!

Of course, this is just my humble opinion. But its evidenced by the fact that these games aren’t dying out because there aren’t stories to tell or stories have been wrapped up. Its by head staffers saying, “I need a break” right in the middle (or in some cases at the beginning) of their initial stories and then not coming back. That can’t have been the plan. And of course, some of these games aren’t even making it out of the Alpha or Beta stages. Again, that can’t be what people want for the games they open.
This isn’t what happened in this specific case and this conversation should be spun off into a different thread. Right now all you are doing is assigning blame to somebody when you don’t even know the truth, and to be honest? It’s this sort of thing that keeps people from running games.
LA was fun, exciting and different. The person who ran the game is inventive, creative, and amazing. But sometimes games don’t work out for whatever reason, and that’s OK. That doesn’t mean they shouldn’t keep trying.
Man, thank you. Because this vague insinuation that Director bailed and crushed all these people’s hopes and dreams of stories really started to get my blood pressure up. He’s a really cool dude, who is engaging, funny, and a great time.
