Submitted an application two adopt to little girls, sisters. They were rescued from a hoarding situation. The woman had 43 cats. One of them is so skittish and wouldn’t come near me but her sister, despite being wary, actually came over to me a few times for petting. I’m sure with her sister’s help, the other will calm down and learn the joy of cuddles in time.

@Sillylily Slayers, the Buffyverse audiobook by Amber Benson, was pretty effing entertaining, imo. It was kinda like listening to an olde-timey radio show, but make it Buffy. ~If anybody is looking for something in that realm.

The parent(s) of student(s) at my district were picked up by ICE and detained. The student(s) are with family, but it’s still shaking up this tiny-ass rural, progressive island community. And it’s shaking up me too even if I’m white as Wonder Bread.

I went to my neuro today and told her the medication she put me on got me down to 6 or 7 migraines a month (this is a tremendous improvement for me). But she looked at me and was like, I think we can do better. And gave me several other options for further decreasing the migraines.

I should have done this years ago.

As adoption of AI has changed, my former views of ‘hey, this is a fun toy’ has changed into resentment. Mostly, eliminating drudgery and as a super-charged oft-lying google is all I’ve been using it for.

Ironic, as my assigned initiative at work for 2025 is to become the in-house AI specialist. Just what I always wanted, being the person whose product is a hammer in search of a nail, while also being responsible when the hammer decides it’s a fork about 20% of the time.

    Tch.

The Blacktongue Thief by Christopher Buehlman was, in my opinion, excellent.

The Daughter’s War by Buehlman came out this summer and is a prequel to The Blacktongue Thief. Very different than the Blacktongue Thief, but very good.

The Bright Sword by Lev Grossman. Another take on the Arthorian legend. If you enjoyed the Magicians you’ll probably like this

Unfortunately there is no rental plugin that I have seen. With rentals you have to do a calendar function. Where I can rent at two pm and for one day and it locks the vehicle out until two the next day from availability. That rate is a daily rate. Then incorporate weekly rates, monthly rates etc. and adjust the cost and calendar tied to it accordingly with reservations.

    Take a look at this.

I use SquareSpace professionally to build sites for customers to maintain, and it’s pretty user friendly. I’m unfamiliar with the Booqable plugin, but I think it’s worth a look if you want something you can manage easily.

Most likely what you’ll want is to find a booking service that works well for physical rentals that has an embeddable component. Those can be pretty easily plugged into a site regardless of where you end up building it.

In fact, just building a site through something like this may do what you need.
