(@Tez WHY IS THIS NOT WORKING WITH IMGUR LINKS REEEE)
Were you doing it with just the regular Imgur URL from the URL bar or did you right click on the image and get the actual direct image link?

@dvoraen Git gud

I think it was the imgur-provided link instead of the direct one, yeah.
@Tez Same to you Miss Upgrader! Fix my spoiler block to redact properly!

Yeah, then that’s just any URL for a web page; it’d be like expecting a BMD post URL to resolve to an image just because an image appeared on the page.
You have to have a URL ending with an actual image filename and extension.

Neither is what you’re insinuating with this, particularly when you consider that the initial response to me was flippant – and also not really funny from my perspective, but I didn’t take it as malicious or intended to be insulting (nor was my response to it meant as such either) – especially since, as we clearly just saw with not knowing how to properly image link from imgur, it could’ve just been a simple matter of me simply forgetting how to do it correctly. Secondly, if I had any real issue with the forum upgrade, it would have been voiced by now and in a very different way.
That said, @Tez if that was in bad taste, I am sorry.

@dvoraen There’s a place to put feedback related to the change. If you actually have feedback on things that are broken, they can go there. If you have any amount of searching to figure out how to fix it, that’s even better. Roz found the solution to the layout issue and posted it in that thread so I could implement it.
I do not get paid to do this. I’m not just an unpaid volunteer, I pay for the privilege of volunteering. I assumed you were joking and responded in that fashion, because the idea that you were being serious was too wild to contemplate. If I was wrong, and you were serious, then yeah, it was in piss poor taste.

To be clear, yes, I was trying to be completely facetious, because I could not for the life of me figure out what I was doing wrong for either one. The only reason I tagged you was because you probably would know the most and, tbh, I just did not have time to research it because I was posting right before my appointment for a surgery consult. (And to be fair, I did open the door to being whapped with a ‘git gud’, but my reaction to it was to sigh in all caps in my chair, but again, I didn’t treat it as serious. I just didn’t laugh or find it humorous as far as “it was not funny” was concerned.)
But yeah. I probably could’ve handled that better either way.

I’m stressed. I’m concerned.
lol “accidentally”
Look, sometimes you just caught up in the moment and invade Poland.
I mean there are currently German tanks pointing towards Poland (maybe even driving through it, I’m not totally caught up on the minutiae of the movements) but it’s not what it looks like.

Struggling pretty hard. I’m LGBTQIA+, and it feels like the US is becoming a more hostile place than ever. My partner and I are basically alternating between literal panic attacks and each day’s headlines feel like a fresh hell. Trying to prop up my community members spiraling in group chat, and I just don’t know what to say anymore.
In 2017, it was the stupidest timeline but we just had to knuckle down
In 2025, I’m out of jokes, and this feels like literal hell. -
Temporarily took down most of my professional online presence a few weeks ago out of an abundance of caution, and felt like a coward doing so. This week, professors at the school have started to show up on lists for teaching radical ideology. Today I fielded my first otherwise innocuous request for a past syllabus from a former student who absolutely fits the bill.

I thought I was relatively safe in California, but I was very wrong. Watching Trump operate unchecked following the Project 2025 playbook has been a surreal horror.
-
Some of my students are scared. A LOT of my foster family friends are scared. My caseworker is stressed AF. The county has 54 foster families, and some of those are undocumented because they are kindship placements. Losing them would rock the system - oh, and they’re facing budget cuts.
-
I dont know if this will help and I realize it’s a herculean effort to pull out of the cascade of horrors. But as the judicial system gives us a tiny bit of breathing room it might give us a chance to speak. (The following was borrowed from what someone told me)

This is the phone number for the U.S. Capitol switchboard where an operator will connect you directly with the office you request.
You can let your members of Congress know how you feel and what you expect regarding the policies and practices being proposed and implemented in this nation; about Executive Orders that require Congressional attention; and about President Trump’s comments on basically everyone who isn’t a cis white man.
Sorry if it’s out of place.

The only consolation I have is that I’m in NY and we’re safely blue. Schumer and Gillibrand already hate Trump and will do anything to stop him. So will the governor.
