I enjoy humor in my RP.
Today while listening to @Snackness talk about one of her scenes, I was reminded of the time me and @KarmaBum had characters “escaping” a hospital via icy fire escape and just… failing
Over and over.
It was a good time.

so @Rathenhope’s character had this dream job that he wanted and his dream boss was played by @farfalla, and my char happened to have this giant effing portrait of Farfallachar… as one does.
My char and Rathenchar were standing in front of it while he talked about this dream job and dream boss and his dreams, and my character didn’t warn him that Farfallachar was right behind him, listening, and when Rathencar realized this, he did a lotttt of slapstick and eventually physically had to hide behind a desk, by leaping there.

@helvetica Honestly one of my favourite scenes of all time.
-
@tsar That was a great scene.
I had a lot of fun whenever Byron interacted with the Archivist on GH. That player was a really good sport about things like “the boogerfish is wearing a bridal veil~”
Also a scene with @Pyrephox on GH where there was a sloppy, drunken hug and someone had to leave the dinner party with a broken nose.
On Saturday, I got to play an ostrich at the circus stealing a gold medal from the equivalent of a city councilmember (whose player was a lovely sport).
OH OH and when we found out what happened to Brett on Horror2 and left bologna sammiches out for him.

Two words: THE FRIDGE.
-
@KarmaBum Still one of the scenes that makes me giggle whenever I think about it.
-
I had another scene that I remember fondly where @junipersky hit my incredibly grumpy PC in the head with a brush by mistake
-
@helvetica Top tier! But also the scene where your character and mine were in the gardens and engaged in miming to identify a musical instrument and I used the word ‘sackbut’ a lot.
-
@tsar
THIS WAS THE EXACT SCENE I THOUGHT OF. -
RP comedy is maybe the hardest thing for me to get but I love it when it hits.
One of my favorite scenes these last few years started as mundane trying to ICly fix a hot tub with @Tat and @YetiBeard characters (plus one person whose bmd name I don’t know) and it just spiraled into hilarity that compounded on itself and had very little to do with fixing a hot tub. And makes no sense out of context, but such is comedy.

The fight for the life of the Garou caern is raging. My Corax did his bit to help them out before the fight. So now he’s just hanging back, watching.
Then, mid-fight, a little bat spirit starts gunning for a wounded Garou laying in back nearby. So my Corax flies in to fight it off.
The two proceed to get into a slap fight where neither could really hurt the other meaningfully, with the entire scene of people going crazy about it.
Eventually a Ratkin engineer breaks it up by firing a sonic pulse at the spirit, which the ST allowed on the grounds that the fight was NEVER GOING TO END otherwise.

lol, a recent favorite: what started as a scene where my character invites over his friend to make sure he’s not about to make bad choices after traumatic events, quickly spirals into everyone getting high. The friend, at one point, mentions that once upon a time a girl gave him her number, and since he doesn’t have a phone he has been giving out this number when people ask for his.
My character latches onto this and decides that if this poor girl has been getting phone calls meant for the friend FOR YEARS NOW, they need to call it to figure out what’s been going on. Except they’re wizards, and don’t know how phones work. So they end up heading to a phone booth (it is 1992 London) to try and figure that out, while both are high as kites. Hilarity ensues.

@Yam is one of the funniest fucking RPers I have ever had the pleasure of RPing with IN MY LIFE. The absolute LACK OF EGO and WILLINGNESS TO BE GOOFY. Amazing.
-
Speaking of wizards, one of my favorite amusing scenes was where my character wanted to be magic confectioner and ended up making an animated Gingerbread Man. Who got away. And she and her friends had to chase it all over the school, all while it made rude gestures and created Home Alone-esque food-based traps for them.
They ended up sticky, wet, and smelling of popcorn by the time they caught it.

I was a brand new player on Darkspires. My character approached the scene of… something going on, to find bits and pieces of some creature that had been splattered.
Branwen (RIP Usekh), having noticed my character’s queasiness, flew down in crow form (Darkspires was a game taking place in the Dresden Files universe), picked up a… ewh… testicle, and wiggled it at my character. “Is this yours?”
I hurt myself laughing… then the damned bird swallowed it. xD

I always had fun with the concept of messengers on Arx, but one of my favorite memories was receiving a really spicy one after one of those big assemblies and just on a whim wondering, ok but what if my character said something really dumb and fucked this up? Knowing the other player would run with it.
The growing disgust in her responses while we cackled OOC was just
It’s stuff like that that makes me miss having the spoons to play, and remember this hobby fondly!

I always enjoyed getting messengers on the tortise that arrived months after the fact.
