I’m embarrassed at how many times I’ve cut my lip on hard shell tacos.

Need I bring up whether or not a taco is a hot dog or a sandwich. Which likely makes it a type of sandwich regardless.

At least you’ve never had a sliver of hard tortilla slide up your tooth and into your gum like a splinter. I am a grown adult, I have paid my dues, this should not keep happening!

The next person to bring up ‘is X a sandwich/taco/calzone’ gets banned, then defenestrated, then unbanned, roundly mocked in a ridiculous accent, tarred, banned, feathered, and sent to live on the island of Elba for a decade.

I lean towards Taco, but sometimes Hot Dogs are just swell.

I have, in fact! Plenty of times, and painful every time, haha. I chose only to mention my lips out of consideration of anyone who gets squicky about dental stuff.

I don’t think MSB has the critical mass of engaged users necessary to function as an active board long term. You need enough people posting to make checking regular updates a thing, so that they’re in turn likely to make a post and continue the cycle. With the majority of active users having moved on to BMD, I think it’s going to be a death spiral into irrelevance.
On a more serious note: I’m OK with this, personally. Happy, actually.
I never had anything against the sentiments that MSB’s new modmins were espousing on wanting a more positive, constructive and less toxic community, where personal attacks might be somewhat less frequent. I take part in communities where personal attacks aren’t allowed at all, and not only am I fine with them, but I often prefer them.
My problem, as almost everyone at this point has already observed, is that the pitch was a lie, and delivered alongside actions running counter.
I’m excited that BMD actually does look set to deliver the “kinder, gentler MSB” proposed, in that it’s a version not run by Derp and cheerled by Ghost, where internet arguments aren’t won with a banhammer, and complaints or concerns aren’t viewed as more dangerous than what they address.
MSB certainly had its problems, which were worth some serious examination and constructive discussion. But I think the community has matured over time, and that it’s reflected in the way that a lot of posters here are using the fresh start to discuss not only what was, but what could be.
So rest in peace, MSB.

I don’t think it’s bad to want a different tone on MSB, but the thing I can’t get over is it was unilaterally decided on everyone’s behalf that they were changing the fundamentals of a longstanding forum, and then they got mad that people were upset about it (well not me, I was already banned). You can’t do a Message Board Coup and expect everyone to just be fine with it.
