MU Peeves Thread

To be honest I feel like TS is probably the #1 thing MU*ers lie OOCly to get, I don’t know why this peeve would strain credulity.
-
@Kestrel lol I assure you, credulity remains unstrained indubitably. The second response just had the whiff of there being some kind of new and interesting sex rule
that was being broken ??? instead of like… a normal ass rule like not creeping on someone with an undisclosed alt. That’s all. -
@helvetica Aye, my read of it was similar and so was my reaction. It was less “I don’t believe you” and more “… more details please, spill all of the tea.”
-
Alright alright alright.
I just didn’t want this to turn into a discussion about policy when it’s not a matter of the policy involved but of obtaining consent under false pretenses.
There is a prohibition on relationship roleplay with characters that have been in the game for less than two weeks. The rule applies even to returning players playing a new character.
“Pat” violated this policy multiple times. Fine. But in at least two of those times, “Pat” also provably lied about how long their character had been in game (when directly asked by the other players involved) in order to obtain their consent. In both, “Pat” significantly exaggerated their character’s time in the game.
“Pat” knew the rule. A character’s creation date as well as their number of days in the game are spelled out on their sheet, which “Pat” knows. It wasn’t a matter of forgetfulness or plain uncertainty.
“Pat” was caught and removed from the game.

You’re right. That sucks.
I just had the same reaction as @helvetica and was leaning back in my chair thinking about the the wild world of policies. Thinking about comic games making unfortunate rules about character gender and sexuality. IDK.
Our hobby sure is a place sometimes.
-
That’s just such a dumb lie, too.
Obviously lying to get TS (or anything, but TS is particularly violating) is bad, but like… just wait two weeks my dude, it’s not hard.
-
Yeah, like, of all the assumptions I made when this peeve was posted, ‘couldn’t wait 14 days for TS’ wasn’t on the Bingo card.
There are so many horny mofos out there who aren’t on games for any other reason, I get that.
I’m somewhat baffled they don’t just go to sex games or Gdoc porn with a friend but…idk I am not an expert in these things.
-
@Pavel I have to disagree.
It sounds like it was very hard indeed.
-
I assume in this case sheets are hidden from other players, so the other party can’t ascertain whether they’re breaking the policy? Or is there something I’m missing?

The last thing I want is Google giving me an AI summary of my TS.
-
@Yam tbh, I can see not knowing whether someone “new” has been playing for two weeks or even a month. I barely perceive the passage of time in real life, let alone pretend life. Characters are created and idle reaped all in darkness.
-
@Pavel I shuddered IRL.

I think if enough of us dedicate ourselves enough, we could finally break AI for good.
-
it’s super sketch and not okay to lie about anything to get TS
but simultaneously
