@farfalla I wouldn’t want someone tripping over something they didn’t want to read without making the choice to read it.
The thing is, unless you are living under a rock with no wi-fi, someone will absolutely tell you what is being said about you even if you do manage to blissfully not stumble across it. Might as well be opt-out.
You aren’t fkn wrong. I’ve been told some of the worst stuff by some of the best people in the hobby because they sincerely thought they were being helpful.
-
Pretty much. During a time period in which some shitty things were being said about me on MSB, I tried to just not log in so I didn’t have to see them, but people on game helpfully let me know via pages exactly what was being said about me. It got to me enough that I made the very impulsive decision to leave the game in the middle of it because I could not get away from it otherwise.
-
Ugh I woke up still really bothered by how Farfalla’s ban is being characterized on MSB. I have not actually heard anyone other than Ganymede, even those generally speaking on her side of issues or at least in the middle, actually say “I looked at the logs and agree the ban was totally warranted.” Amidst everything else, even when they very clearly will say that they didn’t agree with other behavior. The loudness of everyone’s exit was a direct result of Farfalla’s ban, but no one I can see is actually, actively disagreeing with the idea that it was an unjust ban.
Just DRIVING ME A LITTLE NUTS this morning.

Just think of the MSBers as a bunch of people huffing copium while they try to rationalize how the community fell apart instead of accept the truth of the matter.
-
@Roz Everyone else who commented on it, who isn’t in any association with Ganymede, was banned. I don’t blame them for not talking about it, even if they want to.

Just DRIVING ME A LITTLE NUTS this morning.
We call that a short drive but a pleasant one~
What’s gnawing at me still is Gany telling whoever is left that she doesn’t think Derp did anything wrong. While telling people in PM prior to banning us that she acknowledges he was wrong, but the problem is that she didn’t tell him it was wrong.
She tried to play both sides, failed, and now she’s changing her tune, and that’s embarrassing me on her behalf.

Just wanna say thank you to @Meg for putting together the discord community that came together after the bannings.
And thank you for banning me from it at the end, so that I too could tell people I was banned.
-
@Rucket I like to think of it as, now they have the toxic hellhole they’ve always wanted and I hope they enjoy it.
(I’m annoyed af at Gany but this doesn’t really apply to her…except that she let it happen. Bless her heart.)

But I have needs.

@Jennkryst I tried to give you what you wanted.

… never got my personalized message, rabble rabble.
Apparently discord doesn’t show you the message. Meg went to all the effort to make the messages and they didn’t show.
-
Thank you @Meg for giving me the second ban of my life.
-
The new argument that this is merely the result of wanting more moderation and people are just mad that they are being moderated (because they’re super hypocrites and are now getting theirs), sure is a take.
-
The lengths people go to to avoid saying the words “I’m sorry” makes it feel like they’re worried saying the words is going to make them melt (like the wicked witch and the bucket of water). It shouldn’t surprise me.
-
@IoleRae taking personal accountability is hard sadly. It is not a skill many have skill points in. Something we are struggling with in life. But the level going on now is almost herculean effort and reality bending on a scarlet witch level.
-
@kalakh To err is human, to forgive is divine.
I said this earlier today, but I’m just tired of the ticky tack crap that I see inundated around various places like mush forums and the like. It won’t change, and I think people are far too caught up in how they’re perceived and being able to apologize or seek to be better isn’t looked upon favorably. Or simply believing that people are incapable of change.
Not really sure what I think about that these days. But I often see pride more often than not get in the way rational thought.

It IS hard, which is why it shouldn’t surprise me that folks elect to rewrite their reality instead. Such a fucking shame.
