I’ve been eyeing Manor Lords, myself. My city-builder game for now has been Farthest Frontier, which is close to 1.0 launch and just had a major update for its combat system that I haven’t explored yet.
Lightyear Frontier - Early Access. This is a life sim type game for 1-4 players with a little alien civilization mystery attached. I spent about 30-40h on just the basics before I put it down for the next update, having done virtually everything the EA launch had to offer. I have not found all the secrets, though, so I may go back to that.
Soulmask - Early Access in June; open limited-time beta on May 1. This is kind of like Conan Exiles, in that it’s a survival-tribal type of game with PVE elements. I’m not sure how to fully explain it. I wanted to like it, but I had a hard time getting into it alone, so I feel like it’s meant for multiplayer. There are PVP elements to it as well (PVE and PVP servers, for example).

I picked up Broken Roads, which is a new Dingo Elysium game (dialogue 'em up set in Australia). It’s all right so far! Still figuring out if I’m enjoying the philosophical system as it sort of seems like the usual RPG choices but with a reference to Hume or Machiavelli. Like, should I save the raider chief’s life because all human life has inherent good and I’m a staunch Kantian? Or should I kill him for the utilitarian greater good? OR should I kill him because he might come after me and I’m a nihilist and therefore must maximize my own chances to survive?
I mean, it’s cool so far. The controls and pathfinding are a little clunky. It has an isometric fallout feel, as it’s post apocalyptic.
Edit: It has terrible reviews, seemingly because of the clunky controls and bugs, but they haven’t really bothered me yet. Maybe it’s like a YMMV situation.

That phrase has a very different meaning in Australia.

Both meanings fit me, I think.

@dvoraen PLAY LIGHTYEAR FRONTIER WITH ME PLEASE

I spent 100+ in Enshrouded and now I have nothing left to do in the game and my life is meaningless.
-
You must start to build one voxel at a time!
-
@Cobalt OKAY. WILL WE START FROM SCRATCH? Also I have Enshrouded too.

RISE FROM THE ASHES SO THAT I MAY POST.
It’s rare that a trailer presentation will get me instantly interested in something, but Sandfall Interactive did it with Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. They are even releasing tracks from the score (on YouTube and Spotify) before release, as they give out information. And, um, I really like everything I’m seeing so far. But I’d rather the content speak for itself.
It’s a turn-based RPG inspired by a number of titles.
- Reveal Trailer - Why you should care.
- First Look Gameplay - 6m gameplay trailer with a couple (edited?) cutscenes
- Cast Reveal Trailer - Was not expecting one of those names.

Silent Hill 2.1 doesn’t suck. Not great, but it doesn’t suck. It’s fine. It’s probably even better than okay. That’s more than I expected going in.
-
@dvoraen I’m really looking forward to this one.

I finished Final Fantasy XVI last night (without DLC) after waiting for the PC port to drop. I have feelings.
-
for @Babs because I am always and actively procrastinating on my librarian –
I have started playing Syberia.

@GF I think it is great, actually. Really only have 2 complaints: a couple of locations had about 1 too many explorable areas/wings to complete puzzles. Just a BIT too long. The other is that getting the icon to actually grab the interactables is finicky as fuck, and it can be real annoying.
I might have preferred the way some things were performed in the original - but only a couple. I got to see someone unfamiliar with the original play this for the first time, and everything landed. All in all, a really pleasant surprise.
-
@hellfrog To each her own!
-
Marvel Rivals is pretty dang fun.
-
@Sammich I wish I could get more teams in Rivals that would actually push the objective. It’s really sad to see a Hulk or Wolverine standing off the objective, punching the air, then after the match, they’ve got 0 time on objective and complain that the rest of the team sucked.

Mouthwashing…just wow. PLAY IT. Best horror game in a long time, depressing heavy, dark. Just…fuck.

There are weird space alien flower bug things in my Space Trucker simulator, and I’m a little annoyed that space legs were so bad when they first dropped that I quit space trucking for a while. Tangentially related, the space alien flower bug things aren’t cute enough for me to try to join
never mind the game devs won’t let people join them.Anyway, Sol and/or Earth about to get wrecked, time to speed run building that 1:1 scale Space Trucker MU or something.
-
@BloodAngel Seconded. Really also anything published by Critical Reflex. Mouthwashing, Lunacid, Arctic Eggs…
They have a lot of awesome stuff.
