My review of BP2: the movie is about grief and mourning. I went to it in a slightly depressed mood and lost track of how many times I cried; more than four, probably six. Maybe wait until you’re in a good mood to go watch it.

Basset and Huerta steal the entire movie as Ramonda and Namor, IMO.

I know Huerta spent most of the movie naked but for a pair of swim trunks and Spock ears, constantly flexing his core muscles to make his abs look defined. I know how silly it is.

But nothing felt silly. Every scene he was in, I was entranced. I was there with him, feeling what Namor felt. How hard a lift must that be for an actor? I’m awed.

Bones and All, aka Cannibal Romance, is cute. And fun to loudly eat popcorn during people-nomming scenes.

Glass Onion is also great, it’s in theaters for like. A week, but is Netflix film, so if it’s not on there already, it should be soon.

Glass Onion was SO MUCH FUN. Awesome experience with other people, it was cool to see the audience reaction to the jokes/reveals, but I’m sure it’ll play fun on Netflix, too.

Violent Night is SO GOOD. I thought it was just going to be some cynical, self-aware parody concept, but not only does it play the concept with a completely straight face, there’s some sincerely moving Christmas stuff in there that made me full-on cry at least once. A very dudely movie–self-actualization through massive violence–but the violence itself is so creative and downright funny I almost don’t mind. I give it 98%: one point off for being just the least bit eye-rolly with the testosterone, and another for using too much CGI blood instead of proper squibs. Don’t sleep on this movie!

                      I enjoyed Bullet Train.

It’s a fun, dumb action movie.

                      It’s not particularly deep.

But not everything has to be!

Please go see Cocaine Bear. Everyone involved in this movie deserves more work, and we all deserve to see more of the movies they make.

EDIT: I refuse to review the movie at all because you should go in with whatever your expectations are, and just experience it from that place.

+1 for Cocaine Bear. I went to an 11am showing last Tuesday and it was packed. Two 80 year old guys were there. I was tempted to watch them the whole time, just together their reactions, but I watched the screen instead.

Who else has watched the Dungeons and Dragons movie?

Who else loved it? It was funnier and better-paced than it had a right to be! Also I thought they utilized (and partially made fun of) many D&D tropes while they were at it. Great chemistry between the group members, too.

It was just top to bottom really well-done and fun. Hoping it does well enough to get a sequel, I would love to see that party again.

@Third-Eye I also think, assuming this does well at the box office - which it definitely seems to be - then that success opens the door for different ‘kinds’ of movies. Same as RPGs themselves can.

So while this was an adventurous, light-hearted movie in its heart there’s no reason they can’t have other parties unrelated to it with grittier plots set in the Forgotten Realms, or which explore different corners of Faerun.

Somewhere there’s a Hasbro exec with dollar-sign-eyes smiling like a fool at the prospect.

Yeah we watched it, and found it quite fun. I appreciated how everything just worked, top to bottom. A fun flick that knew how far it could reach for humor and emotional impact and did just that.

Watched it yesterday, loved it. Very fun, great chemistry between the characters, fun use of the IP elements without bogging things down, exciting action sequences and humor that didn’t damage the overall tone. Would love to see a sequel!
