I kind of get what you’re saying but I feel I should ask what do you mean by “learn a slew of backplot”? I think fantasy/L&L helps when there’s some level of depth to the setting, or do you mean the weight of years of history that Arx had?

I havent checked on this thread in like a week but I just want to say that I believe @Prototart . I had very much similar experiences or had friends have those experiences with everyone involved.
I think I mostly avoided comic games after that but Covid was like 50 years ago and time blends together.

I generally dislike time gates and justifications re: xp.
I think folks should do what they want within the normal rules of the game.

But it also helps me to kinda flesh out a character as I go rather than go in with a Malazan: Book of the Fallen length background.

Sometimes I have a concept that I want to work on and flesh out.

I beat DQ1-3 but I need to finish Octopath Zero and DQ7.

It also doesn’t help that I spend about 3-4 hours a day painting now lol.

If anything has to be PvP, I’d rather it be fun IC drama like, “Oh my gods can you believe Davion wore white after Labor Day” or something dumb like that. I would rather focus on making my character go through their own issues/face their own demons than have to worry PvP.

Tedium game pacing. The MU will be connected to a generic incremental idle game (like Cookie Clicker), and each player will be given a number of pose tokens. Each pose will cost a number of tokens based on length, and if you run out of tokens, you must play the idle game to generate more tokens, which can also be spent to make the idle game work faster. Scenes will progress at a speed decided by the various players progression in the idle game generating the tokens.

Been painting a lot of minis since Feb of last year. Got done with this one recently and thought I would share as these are dark times and I hope all of you are hanging in there.

Also hope folks have been enjoying RP! I find my brain not wanting to write as much these days. I should change that some time soon.
