Your first game?

If I recall correctly, I got into MUSHing in the mid to late 90s and my first game was SW1. This kicked off because I had finished reading the Heir to the Empire Trilogy (Thrawn trilogy) and I started reading more post movies Star Wars novels.
Same! My buddy in college recruited me to SW1. That was where I learned to MUSHcode, making some stupid datapad object or something.
I also loved Robotech. I was re-watching it recently with my kids and realizing how much my interest in post-apocalyptic settings started so early with Robotech and Battlestar.

@Ominous I PLAYED ON CROSSROADS MUSH!!! I actually went to the LARP they did <.<
-
@bear_necessities Masq first and Cajun Nights reboot for a bit. If you remember Eyrkah the Mortal or Arienette the Tremere (whom I also played a couple other places), hit me up.
-
Mine was also Ansible MOO, where I met @junipersky ! Most of us on that game were SO YOUNG and there was a lot of pretty serious drama. Iām still in touch with a number of players though, most of which turned into pretty cool adults. Leopard Army 4 Life.
-
@L-B-Heuschkel gods I could not tell you. I was a literal child just fumbling about hacking and slashing.
But I remember random names like āCasperkaleā and āPalaā and neither one of them were me.
-
@Muscle-Car oh man i am definitely thinking of a different game called Crossroads, sorry to disappoint. The one I played was a L&L game not a WoD one
-
My first text game was hellMOO.
I will be taking no further questions.
-
My first MUSH was the old Tales of Taāveren Wheel of Time place. Iād dipped into some MUDs before that but they werenāt really RP places. My mind was blown by the pose command.

An RL friend got me into Harperās Tale (Pern MOO) when we were in high school. I have long since lost touch with that friend, but Iām still MUing!
It was my sister who got me into it when we were in jr. high or high school. I didnāt tend to play very many games at a time, so HT was my mainstay for a long time although I dabbled in others.
Years later when @Tat and I met on our X-Men game and staffed together we discovered that we had actually played together on HT which was fun.
-
Oh and first WOD was one NOLA game, Bourbon and Blood. I tried it because Katrina just hit and I was fifteen. It was humiliating to be fifteen on a WOD game.

It was. This is why I was 19 for like four years. You know, thinking back, itās interesting no one ever questioned that the age never changed.
-
@bear_necessities I never got to the Vegas meet up. It looked fun, but I was a poor student at the time.
-
I do miss game meet ups in person! Iāve met some of my best and oldest rl friends that way, and we needed the in person meet ups because we annoyed each other on the games themselves until we met in person!
-
@Ominous It was both one of the weirdest and coolest āgameā moments Iāve ever had. I never LARPed before, so to see everyone in their garb and acting like their characters the whole time was so strange, but I got to meet some pretty awesome people. Iāve lost touch with the core group now mostly, but we stayed friends a long while!
Who did you play? I canāt remember my characterās name, I think it was Tourmaline. I had another alt too but fucked if I know what their name was.
ETA: Actually I looked through my email and apparently I was Madelynn.
-
@bear_necessities Crispin, the very young Lord of Copper Run who inherited because his dad got executed.
-
@bear_necessities Me toooo, for playing there.
It was not my first game, tho.
