I just want to say since it’s apparent that Ghost is reading that it is against the SPIRIT OF THE RULE of the new MSB to continue to personally attack the banned, particularly when they cannot respond directly to those personal attacks.
I’m glad however they found their safe place to apply the rules only to those they dislike and can continue circle jerking about how great and POSITIVE they are while shitting on everyone who cannot defend themselves.

Gany said the reason for the bannings was to help with sharing ideas and communities! Because MSB didn’t have those elements before, apparently!

@hellfrog More often than not, I think people at times feel a sense of social pressure to act a certain way in order to be accepted. That probably varies from situation to situation, but I think it’s still a thing. Not even talking on forums specifically, but just in general life.
And if I was the one who called out VK originally, I don’t remember, but that sounds like something I’d do.
@Narson They may be different perception of the same reality, but that belief doesn’t invalidate their perception. That’s simply why we have perception to begin, created by our own biases, worldview, and preconceived notions. There’s countless different version, each slightly variable from one person to the next.

This is Ghost and Monique, folks. They have a long-term history of intentionally getting under peoples’ skin for the purposes of just…being mean. Probably best to stop feeding them, as hard as can be.
They’re going to build what they deserve, and be stuck to marinate in their own shit. Just leave them to it. If it turns out that it winds up being positive and good and what they’re SAYING it’s going to be, then the hobby wins. In no world does continuing to engage serve the greater good.

You’re right. I was about to post something along these lines about Ghost – just stop giving him attention – but you’re probably right about VK/Hella/Monique, too. I’m just bothered at the whole username change and pretending like nothing happened and the idea that there are folks on the board who will now engage with her having no idea what shitty things she did.
But you’re right. It’ll inevitably come back around on her as it has before.

There is an inability to listen and an inability to change. Something to remember is that you can talk rational and realistic and logic all day long, but willful denial is a strong thing.
You can not change someone, and most of the time it’s futile to make the attempt. The only person who can change someone is themselves. And they have to want to change. Otherwise, everything else is just noise and cognitive dissonance.

It always does.
It’s the ONLY reason I was able to sit back and wait when I was told that staff believed her that I ran her off of a game that she played for six months longer than I did (and she was one of the contributing factors as to why I left). She is incapable of not hurting people. It eventually came out. What she does ALWAYS comes out. She is NOWHERE near as skilled as Spider is in not getting caught.
Now I am going to go back to trying desperately to follow my own advice.

I find it disappointing that my long tenure on that board was brought to an end because I objected over @Snackness and @KarmaBum being banned for utter frivolity when locking the thread and taking a step would have been a sounder choice, in my opinion.
But they’re right in a sense, I knew that I was going to be banned when I hit enter on my post. I would do it again knowing what the results would be. So it’s better if they keep me off of their board and out of their hair.
With that said, I don’t need anyone to be angry on my behalf or further argue with them. The people that remain as active posters on MSB are ones that have a long standing history of manipulative and abusive behavior. In the case of one of the re-emerging personalities, someone that was banned from Arx recently for violating no-contact orders and pretending to not be her.
Those aren’t people I want to be around. I’m content to let it die now.

As far as I know, I’m still not banned and Ganymede is probably waiting for a response to me about suggestions to mod, but… well, like people before me have said, it’s not the board. It’s the community.

I’m just taking it as a good sign that there is at least one years+ lurker who has come out of nowhere, with no skin in any game, to point out how fucked it all was. And I’m hoping others follow suit.
We’ve got over a hundred folks here who came over, and sure some are probably on both still, but like. That’s 100+ people who aren’t sticking their head in the sand and pretending shit didn’t happen.
They want their ‘helpful community’ where nobody can use vulgarity and trying to warn others about a predator in their midst is a personal attack and you will be warned to not make a stir. It’s like how Hot Fuzz had that illusion of 0 crime rate! But like… where actual harm can happen!
I dunno, I got rambling and then distracted at work, and forgot where I was going with this.

@Jennkryst Yeah, I’m in the same boat. I’m kind of annoyed that I now have two forums in which I lurk, though. Also I’m kind of sad that the community got split so thoroughly. I’ve seen it happen in hobbies before, and it just reduces the whole community.
But there’s no doubt that the entire situation was handled horribly. The call for silence was never going to work, seeing as it went against the entire history and culture of the forum (and its predecessors), which was always a soap box to rail against perceieved injustices and wrongs (and also to share thoughts, ideas, joys and friendly banter, but you know, lots of wrongs). Threatening to ban people for speaking out against things they find objectable was always going to result in a whole lot of people saying ‘fuck you, ban me then’.
