@Testament I think a game that operates more like a weekly TT session could be pretty cool. Do you have public logs or anything to read the story? No pressure or anything with this. Just interested how it plays out.

@Meg Logs are posted for things that staff runs because more often than not it’s going to be metaplot related in some way or function.

But players don’t have to post logs, that’s up to them. For example, one of the staffer’s has been running an event for a couple weeks now in more of a play-by-post thing. Because not everyone can be on at the same time. We try to be very flexible about player’s time. Because, well, a lot of us are getting old. Having kids, other hobbies, other interests.

Players are however welcome to play whenever they want. It’s kind of a group thing, while also being “Hey, here’s a grid, go do stuff on it. Just don’t do anything crazy.”

@Testament Is that basically a slower than 1:1 time scale? Because that can be neat (gives people a chance to respond quickly IC, if not OOC), but also a nightmare (9 months is longer than some games exist, so if someone gets premiers at a slower speed, it will last

@Jennkryst Time is kind of flexible debating on how long something is going for. Luckily most players are in the same scenes together so it hasn’t become a massive issue, but yeah. It’s something I’ve thought about.

I dont think the game has a speed of 1:1 or 2:1 or some such. It’s more of a speed of “as fast or slow as it needs to be”.

But at some point, something more solid may have to be put into place. A lot of that would be dependent if the game becomes more open.

I am poking slowly at my Pern game. I have a lot of stuff written from various half-finished games over the years, so just rewiring it to work with the theme I’ve concocted.

And it looks like the Wheel of Time game is coming along nicely. @Rucket has been updating people in Discord, and it’s looking pretty solid. I’m stoked.

Are there any superhero games currently under development? It seems many of them have died off.

@Gasboy I’m not sure of any brand new ones in dev but I know Excelsior seems pretty active still.

@Gasboy Exigenesis is promising and has very nice people. Marvel super heroes meets post apocalyptic. http://exigenesis.net

Excelsior is also very nice, limited rosters but very friendly players and staff, would recommend - http://excelsior.troll20.com

I’ve been thinking quite a bit about a Lancer-themed game as of late, though it would require a pretty substantial rewrite in terms of the mechanics to make it work as a MUSH. Previous supernatural-exploration game that I pitched before (and an unpitched post-climate collapse space station game) is on the back burner for now.

I’m currently working on a Hunter the Vigil 2E game set in Los Angeles. Finally figured out how to get the wiki all pretty and getting it filled out.

Beta/Alpha may be in a couple weeks with potential open date being April sometime.

Today marks 3 years since I first scribbled down ideas for a game that would eventually become Silent Heaven, the small-town horror game I started making when the pandemic started in 2020.

I’m so close to being done with coding Silent Heaven. I want to make it go live this month, but I have so much going on in March that April or May seems more likely. I’m not going to push it back any more than that, though.

@Jumpscare I’ve been following your updates since you started posting them. It’s great to hear you’re so close to being ready to go live! Though I admit I’m entirely spoiled on Ares, I’m definitely planning on giving it a try when you’re open 🙂

@Raeras Thank you! And I agree, I’ve been spoiled by Ares as well, especially with async scenes. I’ve spent a lot of time and effort developing systems that I hope will be respectful of your time in a traditional public scene pace.

And if something isn’t working as I hoped, I’ll always be open to suggestions on how to improve it.
