Isn’t that the same here? With the majority assuming bad faith of anyone who tries to explain or defend themselves? I mean, there is a substantive difference in that, at least here, the admin won’t ban someone for having a differing opinion from them, but the same attitude pervades.
I can’t think of a single instance here where people piled onto someone without any evidence, let alone invented evidence of misdeeds wholesale like is going on over there on that thread.

I like to think it’s more that we believe the accuser until evidence is presented otherwise. I don’t know if it’s true but that’s how I generally try to act.

@Cobalt I’m not you and don’t mean to suggest that my response is or should be your response. I’m just saying, clicking the link to read that MSB thread was nothing but a bad time for me. I was horrified at the amount of cheerleading for rape culture flourishing over there; I was furious at how insultingly transparent the dogwhistles are; I was hurt by how blatant and obvious the hatred of women is; and I was disappointed in myself personally for letting curiosity overwhelm my common sense about letting a divorce be a divorce.
If you think there’s any good to be had from justifying yourself to those people, then I will 100% support you in your efforts however you need me to support you. But if you’re not yet committed to going over there, then my advice is to not reward them with your time and energy. Let them feel like they got the last word, let them congratulate themselves on “owning you with facts and logic,” whatever. At least it will shut them up.

I logged out and since im also on a new phone it’s require resetting my password to log back in. Which, in the end, is too much work to deal with just to flip them off.
Im not going to answer their bullshit question about whether or not my PCs were in a relationship with Isaac, because I shouldn’t have to.

I absolutely do not want to get into any sort of discussion about whether or not someone is lying about having experienced something like that. Let’s just not. Please.
Someone can experience traumatic things and still go on to do shitty things. We don’t have to get into an invalidation of whether someone’s trauma happened.

I don’t take a position on whether she is lying about being sexually assaulted. Rape survivors can be assholes like anyone else & playing out storylines related to sexual assault isn’t actually that weird a thing for a sexual assault survivor to want to do. Victims becoming abusers themselves isn’t even that unlikely statistically.
She’s absolutely lying about her own behavior and that’s really all the information I need, you know? Her personal life has never been any of my business.

@Cobalt I’m not sure if it’s an actual medical or mental condition - but I’ve never, ever seen Macha actually admit actual fault (not without a ‘but’ or redirection of blame). I’ve never heard of her taking a ownership mentality. Has anyone else?
You’ll never ‘win’ with her. She just doesn’t have the ability to accept responsibility. It is never her fault therefore it’s always someone else’s.
At the same time you’ll never ‘win’ with anyone left over there. I support your decision to not go over there on MSB. I think it’s a sound decision. Don’t deposit 5 cents to go stare at the freaks.

Having their own trauma does not excise someone or give them an excuse for being a shitty excuse for a person.
Their trauma is their own. However, it doesn’t give them license to put other people through hell.

I think it’s important to note that this issue didn’t come up because @Cobalt is like reviewing everyone’s scenes for compliance. It was brought to her attention by one of the people in question, so someone wasn’t on board.

I think it’s important to note that this issue didn’t come up because @Cobalt is like reviewing everyone’s scenes for compliance. It was brought to her attention by one of the people in question, so someone wasn’t on board.
Considering who the someone else was, I have no doubt this person reported the scene because they were done with Macha and wanted them off the game so they didn’t expose their harem-building. It is very much part of their MO.

Yeah. Like, Macha definitely has her own toxic traits and issues, but it is sounding more like this incident could entirely be manufactured by PlayerX.

I asked around a little, and it MAY be the case that pages only get wiped when a character is set as Gone (which Mackenzie hasn’t been yet). And the pages would only be wiped from that one character’s account, but not the other person’s they were paging with. Faraday would ofc know for sure, I’m not on the Ares discord.
More general points that are relevant that I know with more confidence I’ve seen discussed is that each game can set how long before page/PM history expires; could be set to days, could be set to years, just depends on what the game runner does. A game admin can’t just easily go and see someone’s PM history, though; the PMs have to be reported to them. (With the usual caveat of “they live in the database somewhere, someone with enough expertise could probably dig them up.” But the system isn’t designed to make them freely accessible.)

@Roz I guess it could be as easy as @Cobalt resetting the password, jumping onto the bit and checking the page history but I wouldn’t blame her if she didn’t want to do that.
I also know that Ruiz prefers to keep their communication off-game and will frequently defer to Discord as a method of communicating.

@bear_necessities Imagine the landmine of pages in there. If the scene was triggering, I imagine the other stuff could be even worse. I wouldn’t want to look up that history.
