lie on face Please don’t argue across boards. That’s not a mod call, that’s just a personal plea. It never, ever ends well, and tends to sour the atmosphere on every board involved.
And not for nothing, but I by no means want to give anyone on MSB the idea that they live rent free in anyone’s head. Because they’re not worth the time.

I don’t think @tsar was saying we should argue across boards, just that Derp is apparently super obsessed with me for whatever reason and keeps coming back here to give more ammo for whatever he’s claiming we’re doing to them.

@Testament i’m mostly being sarcastic. He recently linked to my post here as “proof” that we are continuing to be terrorists or whatever. And before that, it was either him or Gany that @tted me on MSB for no apparent reason.

That wasn’t something I was suggesting anyone here do.
I was commenting on the bizarre state of them having banned a poster, only to find their posts on this board, to go back and argue about/with them across outer space.
I don’t think it’s worthwhile to attempt to argue across boards. And I’m a little hurt that it feels like you were assuming I was encouraging people to do that.

I mean, SOME OF US were banned despite not breaking any rules, so. Not much of a choice on where to do the thing.

When I was a kid I had a friend whose parents were getting divorced, and when I would go over there it would be really weird to hear the dad dropping comments that were clearly meant to make my friend feel like his mom was a bad person.
That’s what it felt like being over there for the hot minute I was, lacking the context of y’alls long history.

@tsar The discussion in the thread has leaned a little towards that in the past, and I was over sensitive to the possibility of it kicking into a higher gear. I apologize for misinterpreting you!

I feel like for everyone’s sanity:
Here should stop being concerned for what is said over there. Attacks or not. It is just continues building up the hurt everyone is feeling about how it all went down.
MSB should also stop worrying about what is done here. Many here have made their bad feels clear and they have too. Keeping paying attention to what is done here is just going to cause more hurt feels.
Basically, everyone has their bad feels about everything and miss being ‘one’ community and it is a community even if it is various groups. Even if people don’t hang out together outside what is of interest they are still a community. Neighborhoods, hobby get togethers, schools, cons, etc are all considered a community of sorts even if not everyone gets along.
I’m all for missing being a single community. At this point, though, I think it is hurting both sides more than anything to keep talking about what the other side is doing.
A final note before I stop engaging in discussing what MSB is doing: I am VERY confused to why @bear_necessities was used as an ‘example’ of ‘bad actors’ on BMD. I have literally said way worse than anything Bear has said. So have others. I do not deny that /I/ have made comments that can 100% be considered personal attacks against some on MSB. Bear, at most, expressed displeasure in a far more reasonable and brief way. IF anything, I should have been one of the people cited as an ‘attacker’ on MSB. I imagine the only reason I am not is because I also add along the lines of ‘More power to them for doing their own thing.’ Citing Bear as a ‘big bad’ is petty at best.
PS. I don’t mean people should stop being part of both boards, if that is their desire. Nothing wrong with being part of both. Nor is defending against what people feel is an injustice against those they care about.

@Arkandel That’s fair, and by no means am I trying to degrade your time running MSB. But these changes to that place were not ones that you put into place.
I suppose the memory of what was should be kept, but also the fact that what can come after can be better.

The hill of “Derp did nothing wrong and has never done anything wrong” looks to be more and more like the one he’s going to literally die on. Dude was a central figure in what went down and refuses to acknowledge that he’s fucked up how he’s handled this multiple ways.
That’s still the thing that bugs me the most at this point.

Oh, don’t get me wrong. Most of the community (or the parts worth having) is and probably will continue on from here, and while people probably always will (rightly, should they want to) be angry/unhappy/hurt by what happened, the community itself will heal and grow and become something new and hopefully better.
But a sledgehammer was swung at what was, people were hurt for bullshit reasons, someone that was trusted by a whole lot of the community broke that trust several times and then let it sit, and the folks now in charge (or friends with those in charge) are largely ones that were deeply disliked prior to all this happening for very good reasons.
A good example might be being suddenly evicted from where you’re living because you had an argument with the old landlord, and the new landlord is that asshole that lived next door who would leave anonymous notes on your mailbox about the state of your lawn. A person might still mourn a house even though all the people that made it a home have left it, even if they have a new home with many of those same people. Even if the new home is ultimately better. There are still memories left behind, neighbors that won’t follow, folks that moved out and you have no idea where they went.
For better or worse, things will never be the same. So that’s what I mean, when I say we were a community. It doesn’t help that the new landlord has declared several times that it’s better this way (whether it is or isn’t), and keeps insisting that you were kicked out for leaving anonymous notes on his mailbox about the state of his lawn.

I was banned for saying that (or maybe it was the fuck you, I don’t know) but it’s the truth. There’s something super cathartic about coming here and unloading and having people agree and I’m not going to tell people they shouldn’t do that or whatever. Sure, if it is DAMAGING YOUR MENTAL HEALTH it is absolutely time to step away - but there is nothing fundamentally wrong with bitching about something. In fact, it can actually help you move on with what you’ve experienced. Of course, if this winds up becoming a circle jerk of extremely toxic negativity, then everyone should opt for themselves to step away, but all I see here is a bunch of people sticking up for themselves and what they feel was wrong.

@Selira I’m not going to say that Ghost is lying about having been an abuse victim and that was the only reason he used to lash out in the past. (And I’m adding a clarification here that I’m not even implying that he is.)
But.
I am going to say that using that as a shield while he continues to lash out now… is pretty fucked up.
