Please share amazing descs here!
Have you come across any descriptions of characters or rooms or something else that really impressed you? Do you have an all time favorite or top three?
What descriptions of your own are you the most pleased with?
What do you look for in character and room descriptions?
Is there anything you wish you could improve in your own writing?
I thought another happy topic might be good, and I love reading and writing descriptions.

Wayward Desperado Bronze Wyaeth was written by S’kris and I’daur on PernMUSH.
Dusty hide like cracked old leather lends this bronze a world-weary look that hangs well on his lanky frame. He’s rangy, tall, and broad-chested, with long limbs ending in spurs of gunmetal-grey talons. His hollow-cheeked jaw is as square and roughly chiseled as they come, while his keen eyes are cool and shadowy beneath prominent, windswept ridges of burnished brass. Sunbleached bronze blazes a trail down the makeshift mountain range of his neckridges, into the coal-smoke crease of his neck and a shoulder edged in dusk. Gritty golds blanket the jaded desert of his haggard ribs, half-cloaked by the shabby, sandstorm duster of his wings. His flanks are leanly muscled, his tail as thin as the rest of his desiccated frame: a distilled dragon, all excess withered away into this faded, hard-edged remnant outridden by those threadbare tumbleweed wings.

Amazingly BAD descs, too? I forget if we have that already or not.
This woman should not be naked, nor should her public hair be that color. But she is. And it is.
@Jennkryst Yeah there’s already a topic for the bad descs ( and looks like bad BGs too) in rough and rowdy: https://brandmuday.mythicus.net/topic/7/descs-and-mu-history
I’m just looking for the good stuff here.
@Jennkryst As opposed to her private hair, right?
Personally, I’m just waiting for someone to sarcastically post the Tracy desc and/or the one of Nymeria’s that became a meme.

@Testament Yes. All hair is public while naked.

@lucidmaus I loooooooved that dragon so much. He was EXACTLY what I wanted. TY many years later.
@Kay I went hunting through my logs and here’s a room description I really like.
This was a restaurant on Crucible City 1, I don’t remember if I described it or someone else did but I always thought it makes a really pretty mental image.
The cafe part of La Cantina, this inner courtyard has had much work done to give an illusion of being outdoors. The roof sports a bona fide glass cupola, the floor is covered in green marbled stone plates, and there’s enough man-sized potted plants (evergreens to palm trees) that the air is perpetually perfumed with a refreshing green aroma.
As one enters through the dark oak double doors, there are wooden staircases leading up to the landings, the latter edged by intricate copper railings that glisten with tender care. The landings are also dotted by man-sized potted plants, though these are all of the flowering variety to give sweet scanted barriers between the private tete a tete tables for two.
Below in the courtyard, the seats are mostly benches in white painted lacy wrought iron as well as sturdy wooden chairs around larger tables and the glass fronted counter with its display of pastries and copper-bronze-steel coffee machines.
As the hours have sped away from the daylight ones, the ambience in the cafe has become more intimate. Little red-glassed lamps have been lit on the intimate tables up on the landings, something sweet, forlorn and classic is crooning from the radio at the counter, and the handsome baristas are just as busy shamelessly flirting as they are in pouring coffee.

I wrote over a hundred descs of characters on Arx and some of the ones I liked best when I wrote them have been changed now because players like to customize – but I still love Eiran’s maybe the best:
Here is a portrait of Eiran Laurent: sprawled long-limbed and flung out in an attitude of perfect despair, dark hair unkempt and limpid eyes full of deepest wist. No; here he is, lean and strong in a forward charge, a shield on one muscular arm and a mace swung up in the other, his even features written with battle-mad delight. Try again; swaying forward on his toes, mesmerized by an enchanting beauty in one face or another, his lush lips pouty with earnest need. All of these are Eiran. His dynamism is what makes him striking, rather than any perfection of his looks, which are pleasant but unremarkable – except for the languid depths of those clear and velvet eyes.
What? You mean this wasn’t a place to blow my own horn? Sorry, I’m a Leo, everywhere is a place to do that. Don’t blame me, blame the stars.
