Arx Peeve: The game is over.
-
Yeah what the heck!
Right when it was just starting to get good too. Sheesh
-
It tickles me a bit that, because of the need to wrap up a bunch of stories by a very strict deadline, canonically a whole bunch of ancient big bads, lurking horrors, and long term threats all got their shit pushed in within the space of like…four months (though, granted, half of that was because evil kirby ate them).
The First Reckoning lasted generations, for comparison. The Second Reckoning was a speed run of Fucking Around and Finally Finding Out.

Humans are just THAT BAD ASS!
Personally, I did have a sort of internal sense that things were happening in a more drawn-out fashion.
Certainly not generations, but there were a couple of days where I thought to myself, “Okay, so that was actually weeks or even a month’s worth of stuff/travel/learning things we did today.”
Altogether, it felt like we fit at least a year or two into those last few weeks and the fast-paced RL scheduling of things didn’t upset my sense of IC time too much.
Great opportunity for flashbacks - even real-time flashbacks - in the sandbox to go back and fill in some of those periods with whatever you wanted to scene about in the build-up, or if you had a cool action or request in that you wished was a scene, or several. I dunno. And be able to do it without having to use the flashback code/system. (For people who are into that sort of thing)
Overall though, phew. What a ride. I had a blast.

I feel like this showed GROWTH and ADVANCEMENT on their parts. They learned that the slow burn sucks so they tried to be quick!
Next (?) Time maybe they will try some thing else.

Being the sole active person in a house of 2 wasn’t a good experience on the game, and probably shouldn’t be encouraged in the development of another Arx game in the future. Houses don’t have to have huge amounts of people but it should be more than 2.
-
YEAH force people to play in certain houses or give up characters if population dips too low
-
Meteor the house. Nature is healing.
-
I don’t want to discredit your experience because it does sound frustrating. However, I don’t know if it’s something that can be policed. I’m sure when the house was created originally the ones to create it had all these amazing stories and ideas. Or maybe they didn’t. Maybe it was friends wanting to have a house with their other friend and staff was like, well it won’t hurt anyone to make them happy.
It can happen in large Houses too. I think there are countless writers (us) behind the characters that are just out of spoons over and over again.
I’m sorry though that you had a frustrating experience with that — also — I am soooooo not staff, so this was not an official anything, Just my brain spewing out. Uninvited. With minor worry of offense now.

The peeve is that I miss you. It was nice to have a place to go if nothing else to hang out.
Fuck you.
