This morning, Benny and I were playing a rousing game of Crazy Dog, which mostly involves exuberant wrestling and an attempt at viciously murdering both of my hands for daring to tussle his face fuzz.
In the middle of said game he freezes completely still, gazes up at me with big, soulful brown eyes full of sweetness and love, and right as I start making cute noises and lean in to kiss his snoot…
Sneezes right in my face.
Twice.

@Aria That is DISGUSTING but also I am fascinated by the edited gif. It is distracting me from everything you said. I keep watching as the dude turns and the line on the edge of his face blurs and disappears.

@helvetica omg that is FASCINATING and ADORABLE and this i why i can’t do dogs. EVERY BIT OF THEIR HAPPINESS IS DISPLAYED IN MUCUS AND DROOL.
Your pics are real cute tho. And dry.

@Aria dogs sneeze during play to let others know they’re happy and it’s not serious aggression. Darcy does it so much when he’s rough housing and it took me forever to realize he’s probably overcompensating because he’s a scary wolf creature
Ohh, I’m not actually upset. I’m not at all upset. I thought it was hilarious, even as I announced “Seriously, dude?!?”
But just know that you’re staring into a trap right now.

Just the bestest of mamas.

My Sable was the best mother ever, I "m sure. Because she had been so malnourished, she only had 1 kitten so she devoted all her attention toward him. If he so much as squeaked, she’d run over and lie down so he could eat. She didn’t wean him for almost 3 months (which probably explains why he’s so fucking spoiled now; it’s his mother’s fault, totally not mine).

A dog is lying beside me with his head pressed hard into my thigh. Even more than his fur, I feel his heat and the hardness of his skull. I would take a picture, but that means getting up for my phone, and that means a dog’s head would no longer be against my thigh, so you can see how I can’t help you.

She really wanted some attention this morning so went behind the monitors.

OMG THIS IS A DOG PARK, AUNT YOU BROUGHT ME TO A DOG PARK.
-
And now he is a happy retired service dog. Brother will miss him, but Levi was ready to just be a dog.

@junipersky Mamacat is watching VERY CLOSELY.

The Captains went back to the shelter.
I console myself with tiny li’l baby yawns.
Miss Mouse only allowed pets of her babies for a minute before sticking her head in the way to say “enough please.”
Baby name: Jasmine

The cat who won’t leave my shoulder alone…

My snow dog is not enjoying the scorched English savannah right now.
I’m not sure why that photo came out with a lens flare. I didn’t do it on purpose, so I think it’s her natural radiance emanating them wherever she goes.
She is, however, remarkably well camouflaged for this weather. As you can see, in this picture she’s completely disappeared. I bet you can’t even see her now.

I hope Boots (Chai) giving his mother a kiss while pretending to be a hat makes you feel a tiny bit better.
