Baldur's Gate 3

@somasatori Multiclassing a Tempest Cleric with two levels of Sorcerer with Dragonic Bloodline, specifically blue dragon.
Why? Because the passive abilities of both of these classes, plus the two levels in Sorc will allow you to literally nuke just about anything with a lightning or thunder spell.
And the metamagic ability that lets you cast the same spell twice really allows you to obliterate just about anything that comes your way.
Or use the Create Water spell on a large area, cast one lightning spell and proceed to fry an entire group.
It’s just about as devastating as the Thief/Paladin combo of Sneak Attack followed with a Smite. But I’m still in Chapter One so far and having a blast.

Scumbag Warlock/Paladin in the house. I’m tempted to trash the character and just play Wyll though.

I need to get more strategic about this stuff. I’m a novice to the Divinity: Original Sin games, and they use a lot of environmental stuff. That combo just sounds really cool.
I’ve been liking the bard’s ability to have a bonus at most checks due to Jack of All Trades and giving bonuses on skill checks to party members.

I really like Wyll so far! I’ve been using him in the party along with Lae’zel and Shadowheart and rolling through encounters pretty easily.

Paladin paladin paladin paladin paladin paladin
Playing whatever greenpeace oath they’ve replaced religion with, and I largely have Shadowheart, Fire Engine, and Very Gay Vamp on my team.
Also I’m playing dark urges
Dark urges is not easy to play as a paladin

@somasatori For me, it’s less about playing Divinity games(though I love Divinity 2 a lot), and rather that after playing DnD 5th ed for this long and reading various reddit threads on builds, you start to figure out how to absolutely abuse the system to create an obscenely OP character by only dipping a couple levels into another class.
-
This is me with PF2e. 5e just confuses and vexes me (less with character builds and more with the absurdity of a flat 5% chance of failure on literally any check you make. And the action economy).
I’ll probably powergame on another playthrough.

Teifling Bard! Loving it so much!

Based on response to this game on
TwitterX it seems like Baldur’s Gate 3 is proof that wokes hate femininity and ‘traditional’ marriage AND that the western media hates Japan.Man, this game seems like it’s doing a lot. Sounds exhausting.

I am comfortable assuming that we can ignore anyone who posts on X for any reason other than, like, their contract with whatever studio they’re working for includes a clause about promoting the product.
-
@Vulgar-Boy lol to say nothing about how Twitter was losing it’s mind over how good Final Fantasy XVI is barely a month ago.
Most users on Twitter have the memory and attention span of a ADHD cocker spaniel.

My experience with this game so far is “JFC, this is still downloading?”, because my Comcast is garbage.
Hopefully I will have more to say soon!
-
Taking Karlach into the Goblin Camp and start literally throwing Goblins around and across the battle map has been the most hilarious, but wholly accurate DnD thing I’ve ever done in this game so far.
10/10 GOTY

First I tried a bard. Then the Dark Urge. Then a paladin. Now a sorcerer. Think I’m sticking with the sorc.
-
I have tried 9 times so far to enjoy a character enough to make it past the first battle once the main character reaches land.
I am supposed to be playing in a group of regular PC gaming friends, but they haven’t been able to purchase BG3 yet, so I’m just spinning my wheels searching for a character concept I want to stick with for my first full playthrough.

You all need to see this video.

I finally settled on bard/warlock because somebody sold their soul for rock n’ roll.
(No idea why I said Sorc. Must be high).
-
I was looking through some of the hotfix notes in the game being patched, and I came across this gem that gave me a chuckle. In a week where things have been utterly terrible for me lately, this made it a little less bad.
-
I love this game. I love this game so much. I haven’t fallen for a game this hard since playing the original Baldur’s Gate 3 in 1999, and my play time on BG3 is swiftly approaching my total playtime for Crusader Kings III, which I’ve had for almost three years.
My current playthrough is a Seldarine Drow rogue and I pretty much squeal at every cut scene. The animations on the facial expressions are nuanced and perfect, which adds so much to the dialog when it comes to the heavy hitting conversations.
-
@Aria I put off buying it because I didn’t think it would be that good and I didn’t see how a D&D game could be as fun as tabletop, where you have flexibility in what you do. TBH, in some ways, the game is MORE flexible than tabletop and the choices they’ve made to balance mechanics and make tweaks are all pretty good.
Mostly.
Except for making hypnotic pattern last only two turns EXCUSE ME THAT IS BULLSHIT LET ME ENTHRALL THE ENTIRE BATTLEFIELD.
I just hit Act III last night, and some of the nuance and branching character conversations just fucking leave me sitting there surprised as HELL that they took the time to flesh things out this deeply down the tree in such different ways.
