Games we want, but will almost certainly never have

@Faraday Yeah, I’ve never tried it with vehicles, I do think that’d complicate matters.
Yeah, switching between types for regular characters is pretty straightforward. It mostly just switches their weapons/armor. But the vehicle is a separate entity with its own damage and stats. Theoretically you can change the vehicle’s type too, but then it gets a bit weird if it’s in Plane form and the damage list is like “Incapacitated wound to Right Arm”
Unrelated side note: changing combatant types also gets messed up if you try to go from Observer to regular combatant or vice-versa. -
All this talk about Battletech and Mech-based MUs, I’m surprised an enterprising coder hasn’t attempted to link a MU to MegaMek.
-
@MisterBoring who needs megamek when you have THUD
-
A solarpunk game where we use supernatural powers to take down corporations, heal the earth, and rebuild communities.
Or I’ll even compromise and ask for a cyberpunk game that doesn’t close within 3 months.
-
@Jumpscare I have, at one point, looked intensely at the Genesys code for Ares, and bought different non-Star Wars Genesys books, including the Android: Shadow of the Beanstalk setting book.
-
@Jennkryst The thing is, I’m not too big on combat. I like the more cerebral, emotional and espionage aspects of those settings, rather than becoming BeefHack McGunHands.

@KarmaBum said in Games we want, but will almost certainly never have and probably in every other iteration of this subject that’s ever been mentioned because KB still wants to play cowboys and yet you may notice that KB has never opened a cowboy MUSH despite several games and that is because KB wants to play cowboys on someone else’s game not my own for a change so will someone please just do this already???:
Cowboys (vs werewolves)
A Wild Imaginary West (clicky) game would also be acceptable.

We are not the same person but I want this too thanks

A Wild West(or even a Weird West) game is in the category of games I’m a little shocked don’t exist. I’m really shocked there aren’t more games set in the Old West(Wild or otherwise), Game of Thrones universe, or the age of piracy.

There are a pair of really annoying reasons for this one, at least previously.

Did Blood of Dragons close? I’ve never played it myself, but I’ve heard about it many times, as recent as last November.
-
@MisterBoring I’m not sure if it closed or not. I found it quite intimidating when I tried to apply there a while ago. It was a lot. And I didn’t necessarily mean that there are no games with those themes; I’m just shocked there aren’t more. Especially Game of Thrones. Lords and Ladies with an established world that people seem to love and enjoy? I’d think there’d be 3 or 4 of them, to be honest.

What about a game that took some of these more “niche” themes and put them onto one game? Like, it would have “eras” that players could make characters for. Wild West, Piracy, and Victorian, for example. Could even make them all “horror” based with WoD style or something.
My first impulse is that this might just split the player base. My hope, however, is that it might inspire someone who came there to play in the wild west era to make a pirate or victorian age character.
