The first few weeks were a desperate scramble to survive. After fighting through the horde to the safety of the Park, it was understandable for people to want to fall into a rhythm, to feel safe, to get comfortable. But that time is over now.

The survivors at the Park know there are others in the City, others who are already coordinated enough to have picked the Home Depot and DICK’S completely clean of everything useful. Couple that to the fact that the neighborhood surrounding the Park is essentially out of supplies, that a horde recently attacked the fence so you know that’s gonna happen again, and it’s time for the Park survivors to focus their efforts.

It’s time to get serious about surviving, or they’re not going to.

The shambling horde

It’s impossible to play on a Mu* anymore for me. Asking for RP and finding RP is such a chore and then when it’s found it’s usually some weird slice-of-life stuff that people want to play, which in a lot of cases isn’t what I’m looking for.

So it’s a constant circle of building PCs, getting amped, trying to find something to do, and failing and just realizing hours/days/weeks/months/whatever of my life has been wasted.

To be clear, I am not feeling this way because someone disagrees. There have been a number of people (among them the ones KarmaBum quoted) who have argued the opposing position quite kindly. Other comments, especially taken together, have made at least two of us feel dismissed. But as @shit-piss-love says, I’m not interested in scouring the thread and pointing fingers at specific comments. The point has been made, and folks can either keep it in mind when posting disagreements or not.

Yeah, if the Discord is limited to the game channels, then Discord just becomes a supplementary client with which to engage with the game. That would be my ideal, because then you don’t run the risk of there being game-focused public chatter and development happening that completely excludes those who don’t want to Discord.

I bought the domain in…gosh, mid to late 90s. It started as a joke from channel talk (hence the whole ‘Where the Deity Complex and Insanity Meet.’ thing) and then just kinda grew, haha. There were so many great people that offered links/articles that it ended up more serious than joke-y.

I kept the domain for years after Pern, because I parked a lot of personal stuff/pictures there. The renewal came up and I was like, naaaaah.

@Raeras Thank you! And I agree, I’ve been spoiled by Ares as well, especially with async scenes. I’ve spent a lot of time and effort developing systems that I hope will be respectful of your time in a traditional public scene pace.

And if something isn’t working as I hoped, I’ll always be open to suggestions on how to improve it.
