@imstillhere And let’s not forget the old ploy of non-Koras (often newbies) in Kora clique scenes being used as blaster fodder while Koras did everything important in the scene, which is at least as bad as staff alts steamrolling the low-level targets. At least the newbies had a chance of being relevant to the scene the other way.

I know this is a waaaaay old post and all, but I didn’t see it at the time. It got me thinking:

Did anyone try to just pose being a completely useless terrified clump of panic and concentrated cowardice? Y’know, really, really play up how absolutely pointless even fighting was and how they were all doomed, while cowering in a corner pissing themselves? Maybe start shouting how they all should surrender because no matter what the NPCs are SO MUCH BETTER than ANYONE on their team that the only way they can win is through sheer dumb luck?

Going way over the top might’ve really put a damper on the dinos’ parade, especially if their results were claimed to be sheer dumb luck. And you’d always have the protection of, ‘well, my character’s a panic-y coward who always believes the worst will happen in a fight… they truly believe that NO ONE stands a chance against these opponents, regardless of how many are defeated with ease.’

I can confirm that I have read the logs of at least one former AoA character who did exactly this during a New Alderaanian (IE: Kora) slaughterfest. That character was completely ignored before, during, and after the event, at least IC. With only logs for reference I cannot speak of OOC activity.

There would have been no damper put on the dinos’ parade. If not completely ignored, they would have taken the chance to revel in their superiority. Though it’s a hypothetical thought for a time long passed, it would not have had the desired effect.

Don’t forget the use of @remit to cheat rolls so they’re always succeeding. NOSPOOF is your very noisy friend.

Also, tiny update, there’s been zero activity on the wiki since November 22.

      @SpilledBeanz

Confirming that the rarer ships of departed individuals were scooped immediately by staff alts and Koras who know staff alts.

To perhaps no one’s surprise, the only things left for the rest of the player base are table scraps. This is far from the first time it’s happened. It won’t be the last unless AoA dies beforehand, which is looking like a very real possibility considering their active player base has been reduced by around 2/3rds.

Something like 10 players left or were banned.

I can confirm that the number of people that left or were banned as a result of this is at least 27.

      Update.

The change of passwords and retirement of characters also comes with a complimentary wiki ban.

Tarion Tavers was on leave for 2 days before being banned. The reason given for his banning is that he “seemed disinterested” despite actively working on code, and later Cujo said that because he had SQL access for his project, he was a “security risk.” However SQL access had been given up before he was banned.

Hex has not been on the game since 12/28. The reason given for his banning is that he made an edit moving his character into “Retired characters.” This has never been met with immediate nuke/newpass before in the last 7 years, and wiki ban has never been standard procedure.

No reason has been given for Kasia/Zephyr’s newpass/nuke or wiki ban.

She is not. Sumi does not have a staff alt.

Update. I now have receipts of Maelstrom contradicting her own post. DM if you want them.

      Info.

Maelstrom has a character in Clan Kora with Hadrix. They also have alts that are married to each other.

Keep this in mind when contemplating the truthfulness/effectiveness of any of her announcements.

      Cujo Commented:
To take a moment to add a bit more information to this post following a few questions asked…

As of now no one has been locked out of, or sitebanned, or asked to leave the game. There have been no bannings up to this point,.
All characters that were moved to the Old Guard Lounge were done so under the belief that they had retired from the game on their own volition, and they are welcomed back at any time and simply have to request a password update. As policy here, Retired accounts are cleaned up, alts are removed to keep the game as clean as possible.

Players who do not announce their retirement are cleaned up over time, and are sent to the starting starport on Nar Shaddaa, and generally left on the grid in-case they decide to return later. However, idle players belongings do get cleaned up, starting after 30 days of being away from the game, thus we encourage players who want to retain their items stay actively present on a day to day basis. If you need some time off, please submit a Vacation +request so that the Staff knows that you are going to be away from <date> to <date>, and we know to protect your inventories.
All deleted alts / characters still exist in copies of the game’s database saves, which we routinely keep dating back many years. They can still be retrieved upon requests, if the request is reviewed and approved.

But, again, no one has been banned from the game. We have simply pushed cleaning processes along based on the information we were given. Anyone who leaves the game under their own volition, is welcomed back at any time they wish to return, and if not, then we wish them all the best.

This is Banshee, and before anyone takes him seriously, know that he would modify Force code on the fly because he was losing a combat scene.

Still, now that you’re here, some questions have been asked that may be answered.

      • Why are @pemit and @remit not restricted when players like Hadrix use them to fake rolls?
      • Why does @sweep send a staff-only alert when a player uses it?
      • Why did Force Lightning change right after your Sith character lost a fight?
      • Why did Force Deflect change right after your Sith character got shot?
      • Why did you appear in this thread after it came out that staff set a romantic partner suspect and snooped on her messages?
      • If you’re a coder, why does Cujo keep telling people he doesn’t have a coder?

      Update.

The alts, and only the alts for a number of departed players have been @nuked. Mains have been left intact. Reasons unknown but appears to be retaliation. Interestingly, this includes players who have not posted in this thread, nor announced their departure.

At this point, someone here has most definitely won crazy staff bingo. Your prize is at the front desk.

      @eddie I’ve identified you.

You are here because you’re invested into making sure Cujo and Hadrix don’t fall.

You’re doing this not because you know they are innocent, but because you are complicit in the same activity Hadrix is. I would suggest moreso, and you get away with it because of who you are.

You are protected in the same manner as Hadrix.

You know that if Hadrix goes down, you’re next.

You are attempting to lay out a smokescreen and muddy up the waters to inject doubt into the discussion purely out of self-preservation.

You deserve the grid you’ve created.

    • RE: Star Wars Age of Alliances: Hadrix and Cujo

I’ve been on AoA for some years now and this is beyond unsurprising. The game has a huge sex pest problem, to the point where I rarely see open pickup RP because one or more of these pests is roaming the grid looking for females to TS at. It’s disgusting.

In all my time there, only one player has been banned for it, and it took him sending another player porn for the complaints, of which there were many, to finally be acknowledged. The banned player drove away many fantastic GMs, as has Hadrix. So if you’re wondering why Hadrix is one of the only active GMs, well, everyone else is gone. The other ones are either male, or the women who didn’t say no to him.

There is at least one more player that I know of (that may be in the above list), who didn’t put up with Hadrix’s multiple attempts at pursuing her and paid the price for it, when his “just joking” justification fell on deaf ears, she was ostracized everywhere he could reach.

It’s not isolated to Hadrix, and the sex pests aren’t always men. I know a male on there who was harassed by a female player who was banned, then unbanned because “she was active when she was around”.

The fact that it’s not only ignored but enabled is… also unsurprising. Cujo ignores anything he doesn’t want to deal with, and enables the loudest, noisiest, and most arrogant players on that grid.

I just didn’t think it was this horrible.

@Narson Nothing’s changed. He’s huge about his image, and his snapback to something he doesn’t want to do is always along the lines of “what would people think?”
