@Solstice If it makes you feel any better, I had an extremely similar response, but my blood clots quickly so instead of nose bleeds I was constantly blowing my nose with the lightest possible pressure to dislodge red-black pebbles that were blocking my airway.
-
AGH. But also yes. A bit.
-
@Solstice I mean, but blood fountains.
That’s fucking metal.

I was really looking forward to a trip for most of this year, but circumstances and logistics have conspired to make it so I can’t go, and I am sad about it.
I still want everyone else doing the trip to have a fantastic time, I’m just BLEh

Finding out a MU friend who became a good RL friend, who attended my wedding and my husband’s funeral, now has Stage IV cancer.

This post is deleted! -
(Also keep it light on the politics… I think this counts as politics but I have to wait for @Tez to get back to me about it.)

Sorry!

I just want to be able to breathe and feel good in my body again. Wildfire smoke + convergence zone air pattern for like 30 days plus + 80s this weekend in SEATTLE in OCTOBER with no real rain since early June and no change of rain predicted for yet another week = exhausted yucky mietze.
-
@mietze I’m in that area too. It’s so unnatural feeling. I miss rain like crazy. Everything is dirt colored and dirty feeling and sad.
-
@mietze I’m sufferin’ right along with you up here.
This is complete shit.
-
@Pavel there is always room for a good Malcolm Tucker bollocking.

The kittens ended up having ringworm, and for various sucky reasons (including husband coming down with shingles) we had to take them to another foster who doesn’t have those same struggles.
I’m devastated. I also don’t feel like I can show it much because a) it was a no brainer to send them to someone else, and b) husband is in pain from this thing.
So I just feel horrible but got to keep it quiet.
-
@junipersky ug i’m sorry.

For various reasons, I am unable to eat anything. Drinking milk is as close as I get to meals. That’s not my peeve.
My peeve is, as I sit here regarding the jug of chocolate milk near to hand, why is there not a pumpkin spice milk? It’s gotta be possible, and I know it would sell.

-
@GF Also, google pumpkin spice syrup.

@GF That sounds like you want chai latte without the black tea, right? If spice is ok with your food limitations, here’s a rough recipe:
Get a pot and toast cardamom pods, whole cloves, ground nutmeg and a cinnamon stick over medium-high heat until it starts smelling really nice, usually 1-2 minutes. Add in a half inch piece of finely sliced raw ginger and a cup of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, lower the heat to a simmer and cook for about five-ten minutes, depending on how strong you want it.
Optional: black peppercorn (omitted in case that’s too spicy for you) and star anise (I don’t like it myself). Basically think flavors you like in chai tea or gingerbread cookies etc. You can also totally use ground spices if you don’t have whole ones, just be careful they don’t burn when toasting.
Add two cups of milk (and optional vanilla essence) and lightly simmer for five minutes. Remove from heat and strain through a strainer into two mugs.
You can also use this to make really delicious spiced hot cocoa, I do that a lot in holiday season.

Sounds like a good recipe and I’ll try it, but nah, I was just being disgruntled that I can drive two miles to a grocery store that sells chocolate milk, strawberry milk, banana milk, orange creamsicle milk, cookies n cream milk, root beer milk, and cotton candy milk, but I can’t get pumpkin spice milk except by combining a gallon milk with a box of pumpkin spice Cheerios. Like, fine, I know liking pumpkin spice probably makes me a basic bitch or whatever, but this basic bitch wants a jug of pumpkin spice milk to soothe the gurgles in her tummy!

@Kay IT IS RAINING
