MU Peeves Thread

@Lemon-Fox I want that one blog that was doing MU interviews to interview Jill. JILL PLEASE. WE JUST HAVE QUESTIONS.
-
@Tez She’d ghost right after the intro tho

Sadly she vanished right after that. It was like encountering a cryptid in the wild.
Complete with the odd combination of “this is creepy, but wow!”

I think I might’ve recently RPed with Jill on a game that has very limited/no OOC? Does she do that? Because I’ve never met her in the classic Guest sense, but I recently had a very weird scene, between two female characters, where that sort of exchange took place IC before I got weirded out and bailed.
-
@Kestrel It’s always been my understanding that Jill never gets to the point of having an actual character anywhere, just making strange conversation OOC as a guest bit and then dipping. I might be wrong though.
-
We only really know how Jill behaves on MUSH game channels/pages. It’s entirely possible they do their schtick in RPI environments that never register here.
That said, the Legend of Jill has been around long enough and widely circulated enough that I assume there are a lot of Jill copycats. Legacy, etc.

This subject has come up with a few people lately, but the real peeve is how much garbage media/tv/movies I have consumed solely because my played-by was in it.
-
No shame there. DeVito is a great actor, but just isn’t the same without the lekku

Ares games feel like those magic slate drawing pads.

You shake them too hard and your creative work disappears?

So I really like it when someone can play a compelling sociopath who’s highly manipulative and intelligent. I think this is usually a more interesting kind of foil than just Punchy McPuncherperson.
But when they get caught and then try to lie about it OOC it’s a weird … sticky feeling.
-
The moment where you realize, “oh, you’re not playing a character; this is actually you.”
-
hey, friend, if you’re going to crib that much inspiration from a source – write some fanfic, you’ll feel better.

From a conversation with a few people I know IRL: When people create amazing story points for their character or for the world in general only to somehow completely draw a blank when you ask them to explore that further.
“I really like how you established your character was secretly undermining the Lord of the West Rivers, can we do some more undermining plot stuff with that?”
“Wait what? I have no idea what you are talking about and am not interested in that in the least.”
“Ok. Well… ugh.”
