@Pavel Tell that to my Steam deck. Maybe once they apply the patch it totals out to 130g, but the Deck did not want to even try downloading the patch.
I deleted a bunch of Switch roms and put it on my SD card, which ran at around ten thousand degrees during install, but it seems to be good now.
With the disclaimer I don’t have a Steam Deck, my understanding from reading threads on Reddit is basically the hardware should let previous generation games to run well, but there are no promises for triple-A titles tuned for modern machines.
Most likely the next iteration of the platform will run BG3 great but it will struggle with whatever comes out next. A sacrifice of performance on the altar of mobility.
I’m not sure what this is a response to, since I never commented on performance. It runs just fine at medium settings, but I had to adjust a couple of things to prevent memory-leak-related-crashing.

Oohh, that’s positively icy for the Steam Deck. Mine varies in heat between “death valley” and “magma fields” when I’m doing anything.

I’m going through as Dark Urge Ranger and decided to actually talk to Gale more than I had to. I ran into this dialogue today.

This popped up on Facebook

I need images of your Dream Guardians to do Smash/Pass with others on stream.
To help, here’s mine. They are absolutely perfect

@Cobalt - THANK YOU!
-
Look at all these lovely guardians who have never done anything wrong.
-
I got the urge to create a druid and I swear it’s quicker than it was. Maybe the patch fixed something to speed things up.
-
I know, I know, humans are boring. Without going into spoilers, I didn’t know very much about the nature of the guardian and gave it the features that most closely matched my RL partner.

@somasatori - THANK YOU!

I have come to the conclusion that Gale has a massive case of Nice Guy Syndrome and it annoys the shit out of me.

This is the reason I didn’t talk to him at all on my original playthrough. It was before they turned down the horniness so he’d just offer romantic stuff when I raised his approval, but when I rejected him he got super super passive aggressive.

^ So much this. I’m not even romancing him in my current playthrough. All my PC did was try to talk to him at a particular event, where his opening comments are snide remarks about how we could’ve had a magic moment together if we were closer, but he’s not into my MC.
Bro, I did not ask.
Then he goes and makes snide remarks about my romance with another one of the partymembers, followed by saying he’s not judging my choices.
Except he just did.
It’s very disappointing because the videos I’ve seen of his romance scenes, some of which were included in the game trailer, are just visually stunning in every possible way. But he gives me so much ick, and specifically ick in the form of behavior I’ve seen from men that I’ve known in real life…
Hard pass. Next game I’m leaving your ass trapped in a portal, my dude.

@Aria You should play Dark Urge next playthrough, which creates a better option for the portal scene.

I’ve heard about that and was actually already planning to! Though it was less because of the portal scene and more because I heard that in addition to building a background out that connects you to a very specific part of the plot, it also adds in some additional cut-scenes and dialogue options to the romance I’ve been pursuing (Astarion). And like, really good ones that very much change the tone of some conversations.
-
@somasatori I’m specifically forgetting he exists in my draconic storm wizard playthrough. She’s already gone around and la dee dah what hole with an arm hanging out if it?

Riiiiiiight? I was finally caught up to where I was at before The Great Campaign Wipe, just starting Act 2, when I found that out. And because I’m already playing a Seldarine Drow who, in my head, started vibing with Astarion because they’re both used to have the world see them as monsters just for existing…
I’m over here like, “Ohh, god. Should I start from the beginning again if it will make this storyline better?!”
Maybe. Maybe? There’s apparently still a lot of shit they’re working to patch or improve in Act 3, so I don’t think I need to rush towards the ending.

After going through character creation again, I’m once more struck by how limited it is for appearance. There’s literally no customization in their looks and they’re not particularly attractive options. Seriously, freckles and vitiligo but you can’t change lips, eyes or mouth? It is 2023 right?
