@bear_necessities Huh… Cause I definitely remember them saying something about not posting explicit scenes. Maybe it was before I joined.

@bear_necessities I’m pretty sure I know exactly who you’re talking about, and yeah, I can see that. I believe those logs got pulled down real quick, but that’s a fair reason to avoid it.

Thundergulch was around for awhile, but just died last year. I too am looking forward to this new cowboy game!!

I feel like it’s a trend with new Ares games. That the first month to two months it gets great interest and lots of activity, but then it just kinda dies right down. It’s happened on probably the last four or five games I’ve joined. It’s only a small percentage that keep up the numbers and interest.

I wasn’t even going to join Concordia, cause I had too many games already, and were loving them, but then one I’d joined that had been going for a couple months up and closed because the activity completely died. It’s disheartening and also makes me weary of getting attached to any new game.

@imstillhere For some yeah, If you look at my previous reply, that’s about the length of the paragraphs I’m talking about in my poses.

@Cornpopped I regularly pose 2 to 4 reasonably-sized paragraphs for poses, so I’m no slouch when it comes to word count, but I guess, for me, it feels like a mismatch in RP styles, and playing with those you are mismatched with is less enjoyable for me. I’d much rather play with someone who poses shorter poses than me rather than longer ones. I can adjust down so we’re on the same kind of rhythm, and that’s fine, it’s just a lot harder for me to adjust upwards.

I agree there are people who seem to be in the same posing style as myself, I’ve just not had a chance to RP with them yet, for various reasons.

The other problem I have with the people who write novels is that they give too much to react to, they advance the scene so much with their poses, that I’m left being like, I wanted to explore this one thing in this pose, but they’ve already moved on past it in their own pose that posing back an concentrating on that thing when they’ve already moved on from seems pointless.

Again, these are just my own opinions, and my own RP style I’ve developed in my 20+ years of M*ing.

If you mean the people who write a novel for their poses and talk about 1000+ words poses, yes they write really well, but for myself, that’s not what I’m looking for in an RP partner. It’s too much. it drains my creativity way too fast trying to keep up with them, and I fear I will be seen as a lesser RPer for shorter, but still substantial, poses because of that. Longer is not better, in my honest opinion, especially in a cooperative hobby like RP.

I am finding that there is a core group that does like that, and it’s been making me wonder if Concordia is really the game for me because that seems to be what is seen as the ‘good’ RP on the game.

@STD I’m pretty sure I’ve heard her mention or have been told that she did used to run a WoD game. I only have experience with her on other games, one now closed, and I quikly noped out of playing with her cause her style was abrasive to me.

@icanbeyourmuse Even Days had a demonic possession plot back in the 90’s! Bring on the crazy plotlines. I would totally make someone who’s show persona is a plastic surgeon who keeps change people’s appearance so they can return after death, invariably with amnesia and end up falling in love with their own brother/sister/uncle/mailman, etc…

So… this is very interesting to me for a few reasons. Mack had been running a behind the scenes smear campaign on myself and another person I RPed with a lot on the Pack since nearly the begining, having had multiple people message me privately to tell me, the last time was only last week. Totally untrue stuff as well, which I suspect made more than a few people avoid RPing with us.

To find this out about her, makes me realize she was trying to gaslight people into thinking we were horrible people while being one herself, and that’s just sad. I really hope I don’t run into her in another game, but if I do, I’ll be sure just to let her self-destruct, since it sounds like her MO.

Also, I commend Cobalt for how she handled everything on that game, totally understand why she needs to shut it down. No one should have to deal with that crap. The theme was never the problem, it was definitely a problem player.
