RE: MU Peeves Thread
@Autumn What game are you referring to that did that?!?
-
RE: MU Peeves Thread
Peeve:
I have two of them
-
When people make up reasons to get you off a game when logs clearly show that their accusations are completely false.
-
When you cheat by taking a power and you add special effects like (it’s oh so addictive and feels so good to the target) for your own jollies.
Oh, it looks like I have a third.
When you manipulate someone OOCly by offering to spy on someone else so you can eventually hook up with them. And then use 2 as a reason and cheat along the way.
That is all.

RE: MU Peeves Thread
New pet peeve:
When there are MULTIPLE plot threads for people to pursue, but instead, other characters decide that the most interesting thing to do is ICly and OOCly gossip about your character. YAY WoD.

RE: Why is Pack closing?
I thought the Pack was closing at the end of the month. It’s down. Does that mean it’s closed early?
@Cobalt Can you please shed some light maybe? Thanks!

RE: MU Peeves Thread
MU*s that expect you to write a thesis dissertation worth of text as part of your character application to play a fun pretendy time supernatural character.
I thought we got rid of that in the 90s.

Golden Road 2.0 - Bay Area By Night - MtAw 2 game in Alpha
Introducing Golden Road 2.0. No longer set at Havrion University, Golden Road 2.0 explores the Chronicles of Darkness in the Bay Area in the 1990s!
Episode 1:
The great earthquake of 1996 rocked the foundations of the Bay Area both physically and spiritually. While the city recovers from the damage, the landscape of it’s shadow has changed greatly. A large wound near the San Andreas fault has appeared and is growing. Unlike other wounds, it’s starting to become a space devoid of magic. Something is draining any and all effects, making exploration at it’s root cause more difficult with each passing day.
The Consilium of the Aurum Via has asked for help amongst the finest occult experts and mages around the world. They are seeking help in not only exploring the mystery of the wound, but also it’s root cause. Some say it’s caused by the Seers of the Throne. Other say it’s a plot by the Timori, a legacy of Banishers. And darker still are the rumors that it’s the soul sucking Tremere Liches who are the cause.
You are one of the mages the the Aurum Via has called upon. Will you investigate the wound or will you seek out the root cause and find yourself amongst the Seers, Timori, or the reapers. Join us at Golden Road MUSH: telnet://goldenroad.mudhosting.net port 4201.
We are a tabletop style game, with weekly sessions to advance the Chronicle of the Golden Road. This is arc 1. Come join us if interested! We use Mage the Awakening 2nd Edition! See you there!

Back to Basics (oWoD Storytelling)
Hi all,
I want to get back to basics and be a ST for a small game. I was planning on doing 1:1 prologues for Mage/Werewolf/Changeling 20th that would eventually get into a full chronicle with different players.
If you’re interested just DM me here or on Discord as Jujube#3283. I have a sandbox that can be used for general storytelling, and as we get more people, it’ll turn into a little mini-Mu*.
I hope to hear from people soon!
Thanks!

Looking for MU* Recs
Looking for someplace fun to play that’s generally active. No Arx please. Thanks!
-
RE: MU Peeves Thread
If you’re playing a 16-20 year old in a modern day MU*, can you at least try to be a believable member of Gen Z? I’m seeing too many ‘teen’ characters that act like 30+ year old Millennials and Gen Xs. It really breaks my immersion.
At least look up how Gen Z acts and learn some of their slang. It’s low-key cringe if you don’t. (See what I did there?)

Superhero MU*s
I’m wanting to get a change of pace from the usual WoD places.
What are the most fun/best superhero MU*s around that are still reasonably active?
How is Infinite Adventures? Any others I should look at?

RE: What Makes a Healthy Community and How to Deal When it Isn't
I think the answer is very straight forward.
What is the key to a healthy community?
R-E-S-P-E-C-T.
I’ve been surprised by the callout posts about people. Yes, sometimes people suck. But does someone need to lambast them on a community forum?
Lambasting others who are part of a community in a community forum does not make for a healthy community.
There is a clear difference in criticism for an action (When so-and-so does blah, it produces these types of consequences), then there’s the ad hominem attacks (So and so is a filthy bitchass stalker).
Remember, we are MUers. We’ve ALL done shitty things. So just remember that when criticizing others, cause someone else might have receipts on you.

RE: oWoD 20th MU* being setup
Anyone who wants to get in the discussion for the MU*.
That is the Discord link. Expires in 7 days. DM me if it doesn’t work for you and you’re interested.
-
RE: oWoD 20th MU* being setup
@mietze I do have the resources for handholding. It’s one of the reasons why there is usually a magic school of some sort. It’s purposefully used for mage training both ICly and OOCly.
-
RE: oWoD 20th MU* being setup
@mietze You’re all misunderstanding me.
-
I don’t like people who use the newbie/apprentice excuse to act like an idiot ICly/OOCly.
-
I’m fine with people being apprentices. I want people to start off with low arete/sphere count so they can learn and get handheld by PCs or by my NPCs.
I’m not anti-apprentice/anti-newblet. I’m anti-idiot.

RE: oWoD 20th MU* being setup
@WhiteRaven Apprentices who don’t know anything are fine.
The problem is people who are disciple level and claim to have passed apprenticeship but don’t know stuff OOCly and dick around generally acting dumb. I’m sorry if it came off in another tone. That wasn’t my intention.
