@Coin I wonder what ol’ Bill of Ockham would make of internet discourse constantly bringing him up…

@hellfrog I didn’t bring them up for you or for this audience. I brought them up for Lithium, on the chance that he really believes he did his best at all times and is just the subject of some malicious conspiracy. If that is the case, then it may help him to do better if he knows how many people felt uncomfortable enough around him to leave channels he was on and avoid events he signed up for. It may inspire him to reflect and to think about how his behavior looks to others.
If he, or anyone else, will not believe me because I do not provide details, then that is unfortunate, but I did the best I could while obeying my conscience. You can choose to believe whomever you find more convincing, and I sincerely hope your choice works out for you.
What’s “a while”?
Because @Lithium was only on the game for 9 days (Warren was approved on the 13th based on the New Arrivals forum), and they played Warren and Lobo.
Macha played Pepper/Betsy/and apparently Bobbi.
Someone else played Scott, and I wanna know more about that guy! we know why Macha got banned. What did the Scott player do that got them booted?
My own useless vaguepost is that I was advised five months ago to be wary of Lithium, based on more than one uncomfortable experience. I trust this person, but you don’t have to, because I could be talking about Macha or be bitter Lithium stole my e-girlfriend for all you could possibly know. That’s fair; you trust your gut and your friends, I trust mine.
I will concur however with the sentiment that this isn’t out of nowhere. Maybe Lithium just has a long history of bitter ex-girlfriends? idk.
I don’t think that the current atmosphere of putting anyone who speaks on trial before we’ll hear their testimony is particularly helpful, however.
-
I assume any accusation made against anyone is true until proven otherwise. I do weigh how seriously I care about an accusation based on how much evidence is provided and whether first or second parties provide it, however.

I’m not putting anyone on trial.
Let me be clear: I don’t have a horse in the @Lithium is or isn’t a creeper race. But this all started because @Runescryer ran in here shouting “DWOPP” and showing his ass to everyone with a nose.
I’m not even saying @GF’s friends or whatever that say Lithium made them uncomfortable are lying. I’m not saying YOUR friends who told you shit about Lithium are lying.
I am saying that at some point, it gets pretty old to be told, “a lot of people say this vague thing, but they don’t want to give details or say it themselves”.
@Selira said she had personal experience and I 100% believe her.
In any case, I still wanna know what the fuck was going on with that Scott player.
-
I did not play Scott. Scott was played by @pru, I have no idea why they were banned, I had no idea why anyone was banned.
@GF If there are people who are talking to you, about me, then I was never approached by anyone having negative feelings. I cannot address things I do not know about. I wish if anyone had negative feelings about me, I would have known, so that I could try to fix that and make sure things were good moving forwards, or even know, so I would not attempt to RP with people again who might be uncomfortable with my RP.
At the very least, I would apologize, because making people feel weird or uncomfortable is the farthest thing from what I want to do.
I admit there has been bad blood that has happened long in the past, but in the recent past the only person I know of who has had bad blood with me on a game, is @visquaine/Entropy and I left that situation for reasons I outlined elsewhere.
I can bring receipts to that whole situation too.
I changed to @cinder on IA because I wanted to wash my hands of all the drama that had sprung up from that whole situation, as a lot of trust had been broken, I was attempting a clean start without any of that baggage.
Then when the page conversation with Runescryer happened, I notified Jupiter and said this was a potential problem I wanted to get ahead of things. Jupiter said he would address it, and asked that I don’t respond to Betsy or contact her. I said fine, I absolutely understood, and I honestly wanted nothing more to do with that whole thing.
If there are people who are uncomfortable around me, it is the least I can do to apologize, and make sure those situations don’t happen again, as it is the farthest from my intentions.
It’s entirely possible that @GF is speaking the truth, sometimes people don’t see things the same way, or RP styles don’t mesh, but I cannot say I /know/ of anything, because other than Runescryer’s page conversation and the mess with Betsy, I thought everything was golden.
As far as Betsy goes, I didn’t even consider Warren taking a shot at Betsy, he was making jokes about the paparazzi, and I can understand why someone might have considered that in a different light looking back on it, the reason Warren left that RP, and decided to not really interact with Betsy anymore is because she ICly started going on this ‘I am so powerful, and bad ass, and have all this stuff’ and it got old.
After all this sidetrack though, @GF these individuals you speak of, I truly am sorry that they felt bothered by any sort of RP we had. I wish I had known about their concerns so I could try to allay them and understand they didn’t wish to RP with me so I wouldn’t have approached them again (If I did) for RP.
-
The whole “I am speaking for the voiceless” thing, as has been discussed ad infinitum, is frankly going to predispose me to disbelieve whatever assertion you’re championing just because of how often it’s been weaponized by bad actors here. It’s really easy and convenient to say “x people came to me and said this,” but I can’t even tell you how many other people have come to me and told me about how uncomfortable it also makes them.
see what I did there? If you’re that thirsty for justice, encourage your friends to speak up for themselves, it’ll ultimately be less exhausting and frustrating for everyone involved.
-
@Wizz yes!
And i am, always, thirsty for justice
-
Just some random points.
People rarely complain to the person they have a problem with.
People don’t even complain to staff most of the time.
There’s a reason hearsay is not allowed to be used in court.
Macha was involved. Remember MSB.
There is no fifth point. -
I say this for Zombie’s benefit when reading this thread: I know I have called for some behaviors and stuff to judge Lithium on, but I don’t think I need or deserve receipts from you.
My call is specifically to the people who are bringing this to this forum. If you’re going to bring someone up for public forum trial (which you did not but Runescryer did), then I’d really like to participate in the trial by judging what they’ve done, is all.
-
trials are exhausting guys
-
You’re not going to get a fair trial, justice, or recompense by posting here. If that’s what you’re after, it’s a fool’s game.
-
FWIW none of the bans in question (or out of question since tek’s became a tangential thing) seem unjustified to me at least insofar as ‘the game is better without these people’. Though I’m also kinda curious who this random Scott Summers is if they are entirely new entity in these dramatics.
-
This is just my opinion. Opinion. Not right. Not wrong. Just a thought in my own mind. Nothing to say your thoughts are wrong.
I feel like when people say ‘many people have told me’ and they don’t want to talk about it; it decreases the effectiveness of those willing to voice it.
(Note I don’t play these games and have nothing personally invested here)
If I tell you something, I don’t want to be championed for. If I want to be championed for, then I would be willing to let you talk about it. If you are not given that and still bringing it up in a public place – you ARE talking about it. There is a chance that my trust that you’d keep my worries between us is now broken.
If I do have the gumption to say: Hey this happened. It makes it seem like I might just be ‘dogpiling’ and doing it to back up the point of my friend. Is that fair? No. Is it considered? Yes.
Also, part of the issue I got with DWOPP is that they would do stuff like that. They would say hey avoid X because I’ve heard xyz about them. However, they were championing for people and just letting me know. This is not a helpful thing, this is a manipulative tactic. It might not come from a bad place, but it becomes suspect. It’s a tactic the abusers use.
I also feel like ‘lots of people said this’ causes some people (and sometimes the people that need to hear it with the power to do something) to tune out with ‘Oh this again’. Which means it makes it harder for me to come to them with my concerns as well, or invalidates my legit and personal issues with the person.
Also, I want to say this. Doing nothing. Saying nothing. Walking away. It’s valid choice if it’s what you as the person it happened to need to do. Not everyone has the spoons to deal with that, and it’s okay.
End note to all my words (sorry) – At the end of the day, just remember to breathe and be kind.
