My 8 year old, one of my college kids, and hubby have really gotten into this dungeon crawler board game. I usually am around listening to the sessions and sometimes hop in if an extra player is needed.

Its definitely an introductory game to those kinds of board games and strategizing/cooperative work, and I’m not sure that it would work well with a bunch of kids (originally we tried it when youngest was 6–he’s grown up around board games and was fine with a lot of other types of games like King of Tokyo, Tokaido, Save Dr Lucky, Dinosaur Tea Party ect) but he wasn’t quite ready until this summer when he’s now 8. And I think he does well bc of the adult coaching available.

But if you (or a partner) enjoys this style of board game and you have kids that you want to introduce to it but that aren’t quite ready for, say legacy Betrayal at House on the Hill, as far as more mature content, I would recommend giving it a try. All kinds of fun and happy feels about seeing such an age range of fans in my house playing together regularly (often at the college kid’s request wanting to play with little bro).

I really enjoyed watching Wil Wheaton play this with his family.
