I think the propensity for reporting this sort of thing from WoD games is mostly selection bias. The predecessors of this kind of board were heavily slanted towards WoD players, so we heard from WoD players about WoD players. I’d wager that this kind of behaviour would be just as prevalent on Star Wars MUDs or furry MUCKs or whatever else, we just don’t hear about it as much because we’re not focused on them.

literally my only interaction with him ever was him as Alejandro, it’s the second or third WoD game I’ve been on since I was a teenager, but uh idk how to put this politely but he didn’t come off as someone who knew English as a second or third language the way that does

i have frustrations but most of them that aren’t philosophical seem consequences of getting approved too early and stuff being changed since

the accepted wisdom used to be that you had to have a decent population of the nightclub people to attract the Serious Stuff people but there are like 10 MUers left so idk if that still holds true

So this was years ago, but from what I can remember we used WoD: Combat - I was staff in part because I was one of the only people who had that - and Freak Legion to make monsters, but I don’t remember if there was a lot of actual proper WoD stuff. There should’ve been, tho.

There was an actual oWoD/Sailor Moon game in the 90s that I briefly staffed on. And then got kicked off of for flipping out, hard, when they didn’t give me Sailor Mercury, prompting someone to actually ask how old I was (I was in the target audience for Sailor Moon)
