Maybe this is hurt feelings talking, but it’s a peeve, as well:

Having a scene with someone and them not posing for days and giving various reasons, yet you know they’re RPing with someone else on another place the entire time, as well as other games.

So, I’m left wondering… does my RP suck, are they bored? Maybe the TS is better! I don’t know. Still sucks. And I still wait.

@Tributary I joined UTS after leaving Neitherlands after a couple of people were “disinvited” and the only other person I wanted to RP with decided to leave after she made shitty comments to them. I know at least one player on Neitherlands was trying to grab up the decent players and was telling them about UTS (she told me about UTS and invited me). My character on there was apparently blown up while trying to do a spell after I told her to delete my char. So sad.

@BloodAngel They did a really good job on this, considering how many people were there. The pacing was perfect and gave people enough time to pose their reaction/actions between GM poses.

I was really impressed with how it was handled. Usually scenes that big take hours and are exhausting/not much fun.

@Third-Eye This happened to me on a game that I’m on right now. Started RPing with the person, was having so much fun with the scenes. Then a group of us starting talking OOC and I realized that I had RPed with that person about… a decade ago, I want to say? And I loved the RP then, too.

So it was a really nice surprise to connect with them again. I wish I ran into more people that I used to RP with years and years ago. I’ve lost touch with so many people.

@helvetica Yeah, I kind of did. I’m not sorry, either. The people she was treating like crap were all really nice and didn’t deserve it at all. The problem is that she was jealous that some people were getting attention and it was pulling attention away from her. So, yeah, she started doing PHB stuff. I figured since she was from WoD games of old, she’d know what it meant.

I can’t find a thread that addresses craft hobbies, so I’ll start one I guess.

The reason I was looking was to ask if anyone quilts and, if so, is it hard to get into? I cannot knit or crochet and I’d like to do something crafty with my time, since I’m home all the time. I’ve looked at a few YouTube videos, as well, but would like to hear from someone with experience.

Also… any other hobbies that might be interesting to take up and learn. I don’t have a lot of money, but I can work around that.

@Tributary I was actually the one that had been paging him right around when the rave started and asked him to show up, completely unaware that all this other stuff was happening in the background.

He told me that his date had ditched him and I assumed he meant Lucene, because RL had eaten her. Mind you, he never mentioned any of this other stuff to me. I’d only just started talking to the guy a few days before.

I will admit, after hearing what happened and him talking to me about his char, I had vague suspicions that he was that mage player that used to use Mind on female chars all the time. I think I might be wrong, though.

@moth I can just sit and watch that play over and over. So cute.

@Tributary The guy I’m thinking of used to use Mind to coerce female chars to sleep with him. He played on Haunted Memories, if that helps. I cannot remember his name. I’m thinking it’s not the same person, but just coincidental with them being Mage and leaning heavily into Mind for stuff.

Honestly, I didn’t get any red flags from him when talking to him, but, like I said, I had only started talking to him a few days ago and only did one scene with him.

I only wondered about the possibility of him being this other person after I’d heard what had happened.

I think I’ve been lucky in my MU* career so far. I started as a teenager, logging on through the college computer lab. I did chat type games at the beginning, which were pretty normal.

It wasn’t until I started RPing on WoD games that I ran into a few people that made me really uncomfortable. But I’ve only ever had two that really bothered me. Both times, I had chars involved with theirs and suddenly stuff started bleeding OOC. And the direction that it was going made me so uncomfortable, that I cut ties with both people.

I realize my experience is pretty tame compared to others and I was lucky to have cut ties as quickly as I did. Since then, I try not to get involved with IC relationships unless I know the people, or I know other people that know that person and can vouch for them. So far, I’ve been extremely lucky. Most of the people my chars have been involved with turned into really good friends OOC and people that I trust a lot, some of them being people that I still talk to.

It’s really hard, though, when you start out as a young teenager and there are older players on all the same games that you are. I had no idea what TS was when I started. To the point that I was all ‘You do what now?’ when I found out. I’d like to think there are people looking out for the younger crowd, but it’s not always the case. A lot of the times, people don’t say anything when it happens, because they’re embarrassed, or think that’s just how it goes online. I wish it wasn’t like that.

@Rathenhope This. This is exactly what goes through my head and it bites. I realize that’s probably not it. But at the same time, I can’t help thinking they’ve found something shiny and new to RP with and that’s why I feel like I’m getting the leftovers. And I know that’s silly.
