For those who haven’t RP’d in several years, what keeps you checking in/weighing in on the forum? I’m referring here to the forum parts specifically about MUSHing and RP, not the social/ooc parts like RL support, pets, books, dead people, etc.

It keeps me connected to something I used to enjoy.

Schadenfreude.
It’s easier than watching keeping up with telenovelas.
Camaraderie in that I’m not the only one in the world recovering from the worst of such places/people.
Nostalgia that I’m not the only one who also had some incredibly lovely experiences with some places/people.
Confirmation I did the right thing by moving on to other hobbies.

2+ years ago. Nothing has really sounded that interesting or it uses systems In bit keen on (async), and I don’t have much time for it anymore.

I haven’t played since Empire, but haven’t actively pursued and stuck with it since Arc shut down.

I’ve tried a few ares games, but I just can’t seem to stick to them. Asynchronous RP is great if it works for you, but it doesn’t for me. My experience is also someone forgets to pose and after two days of waiting I can’t be bothered to continue.

Today! I’m still trying to work myself back into the frame of mind where daily RP is the norm, and it can sometimes be something of a challenge. But I’m still having fun, and while this might just be unwarranted optimism I feel like that won’t change any time soon.

Sometimes I feel bad having the Administrator title here when I haven’t RPed in 2+ years.

@Ashkuri Curiosity. A tie to one of the few internet communities that I have been a part of for a long time. The delusion that one day I will open a server and need to keep up with things happening in the space.

I just haven’t had the time to dedicate to truly RP games anymore as I get older. I mostly play quick fire MUDs now. I’m really a big Legends of the Jedi fan because it’s a quick fire MUD but does manage to have some simple RP I can engage with in my limited play time.
